Mastermind is a fun, engaging way to exercise your brain. it is 100% free and no-ads guaranty! Mastermind is a classical board game from the 1970s involving logical guessing. With our game, you can play against computer both as a code-maker and as a code-breaker.

When you play as a code-breaker, the computer makes the code and you need to crack it, whether using lifelines or not. Each win earns you coin(s) with which you can buy lifeline to help you crack the code. Game starts with few free lifelines for you as surprise! There are 3 boards with various difficulty levels and different code sizes (4, 5, 6).

You can also play as a code-maker and challenge the computer with your secret code! This mode is only available in code size 4. If you give incorrect feedback to computer's guess, you can check your feedback and the app provides you a way to check your feedback.

How to play:

This is a user vs computer game. You can click on the "Play Mode" button on the Home Screen to choose to:
- play as CodeMaker or CodeBreaker
- play with Numbers or Colors

Game starts by the Codemaker deciding an N-digit or N-color secret code where N is the size of the secret code:
- N can be 4, 5 or 6 if computer is the CodeMaker and you are the Codebreaker.
- N can be 4 if you are the Codemaker and computer is the Codebreaker.
Codebreaker then tries to crack the secret code by making guesses and Codemaker provides feedback on each guess in terms of white hits and black hits (more in how to play section below).
Depending on the level of the game, the secret code can have repeated numbers or colors.

For every guess made by the Codebreaker, the Codemaker should provide feedback in terms of:
a. number of black hits/smileys which tells you the count of numbers or colors in your guess which are correct both in value as well as their position in the secret-code, and
b. number of white hits/smileys which tells you the count of numbers or colors in your guess which are correct only in value but are incorrect in their position in the secret-code.
In this way the game progresses until either the Codebreaker cracks the Codemaker's secret-code or exceeds maximum number of attempts (12).

Now about coins and lifelines:

You earn coins when you win any game depending on the level of the game, number of guesses made and the time taken to win the game.
Higher the level of the game, fewer the number of guesses you make and lesser the time you take, more the coins you earn.

Here are the levels in the game:

There are 12 levels in this game and user needs to win 2 games at any level to unlock the next level.

Level 1 to 4 : Beginner level: Size of code = 4 digits/colors, numbers of digits/colors to choose from is 6.

Level 5 to 8 : Intermediate level: Size of code = 5 digits/colors, numbers of digits/colors to choose from is 8.

Level 9 to 12 : Expert level: Size of code = 6 digits/colors, numbers of digits/colors to choose from = 10.

Level 1, Level 5, Level 9: Repeated digits or colors are not allowed in the Secret code of Code Maker.

Level 2, Level 6, Level 10: Any code-digit or code-color may be repeated upto two times in the Secret code of Code Maker.

Level 3, Level 7, Level 11: Any code-digit or code-color may be repeated more than two times in the Secret code of Code Maker.

Level 4, Level 8, Level 12: No restrictions on repetition of digits or colors in the Secret code of Code Maker.
