This is the 5th app I tried, and the only one that actually allowed me to capture my bluetooth headset to allow me to compare how different headsets sound to the people I'm calling. In this new world of videoconferences, that's a great help! It is also nice that you can record throw-away snippets for testing without having to save them. The interface is basic and too-the-point. Can't fault that. Excellent!

This app was SO useful to me. After I replaced bad battery in a Moto G Power phone (so likely my fault) - the microphone sometimes worked, sometimes not. Worked with a voice recorder app, Shazam app, and phone calls. But not with Google maps, Google search. Frustrating. With this app, I learned it was "Direct Sound" vs "Communication" microphone modes that mattered. (Moto's DeviceHelp app not show me a problem.) Now I understood; and can plug in an external mic when needed, as workaround. Thx!

So far, I give 4 stars. Really like the Direct sound and Communication mic setting. The reason I downloaded is for their bluetooth mic support. The bluetooth recording is good enough for my needs. However, would like to see these on future versions: 1) Share option. Option to share the recording through social media or any other means. Right now, the file can only be played through the app. When I check the app folder, cannot play or share. 2) Pause function. Ability to pause recording

EDIT: Dear dev, the option to share a file is unintuitive. I did chose a file, so it is highlighted blue. Then I try pressing the blue line. It never came to my mind to long-press a not highlighted file name from the list. There's no indication of more functions there. (There is a tutorial at the first start tho)

Hye, jz want to confirm, mic mode option "communication" is the voice call during phone call right? - jz want to check if any problem w my mic since so many people complaining about my unclear voice during phone call. Note: i don't understand those giving 1 star simply because they didn't know how to use this simple app. Lol

Simple, to the point, no ads! Would love to see the default file name include the 'direct' /'communication' setting, and apparently many phones have multiple mics now, is there any way of testing each one (e.g. people can't hear me when I use speaker phone, but can on normal call)

So nice to see a simple app that just does what it says, is not an apocalyptic ad bombing mission and it's review column hasn't turned into a trollfest. . Thank you for a great contribution to the community via the Play Store. Now if I could only use it, though. :( On a landscape mode only device the screen is just squished and elongated on a 1024x600 device. The screen shots above make it look like the perfect utility otherwise. Using them as a guide I can see what those really thin squished icons are supposed to be, though some won't respond to a touch and you can not get out of the options screen at all as the 'cancel / save' seems to be on the very bottom of the screen, just outside of the digitizer range. I mean, I could get real creative with driving and even then, that would still be a wobbly 60 degree angle. Although it wouldn't technically be texting and driving, none the less, it would require at least a similar attention level .. and is illegal in many states. Giving it a half way up the scale review due to the intentions and effort.

Was trying to fix a broken speaker on my phone, which was unsuccessful, but then I wanted to check whether I had messed up the microphone. The phone hardware test assumes that the speaker works. With this app I could at least just record for playback. One improvement would be if l could choose playback through the phone earpiece rather than its speaker, but I had a headset handy.
