If you have a radio (wifi) enabled thermostat CT-30 (aka 3M50) or CT-80, available from home depot or online) you can control it while in your home using this app which extends your phone to be part of your home monitoring or home automation system. Use your phone as a portable thermostat control!

In contrast to the manufacturer's cloud management, this app is local with instant access and response. Being local there's no security risk to your network (externally connected devices can serve as bridges to break into your home network) so you can disable the thermostat from accessing the internet. The app allows you to access your thermostat (locally) even when that cloud service or your internet connection is down. No more shivering/sweating, waiting and wondering - you can make and see the change instantly. Keep an android phone or tablet by your bed as an alarm clock and handy thermostat.

Use the thermostat widget so you can see what's going on at a glance.

If you need to change temperature settings while away from home you can continue to use the Radio Thermostat cloud service or for secure access run your own cloud service using AutomationManager.

For advanced automation you'll want to use AutomationManager (see the developers site for details). Using it you can define enhanced schedules, control temperature using location detection, and other similar automation including voice control with Google Home or Amazon Alexa. To use AutomationManager you'll want to both it and this app in server/hub mode together on a dedicated android device.

This really is a free app, not ad supported! If you would like to support the development of this application and others like it, consider purchasing and using AutomationManager.

Note - this app only supports functions provided by the CT-30 API. Functions such as holiday mode, filter, etc, are cannot be provided. Consider using AutomationManager to provide similar advanced functions and more.

NOTE: The CT-30 API is a built in web server that tends to be a little unstable and occasionally drops requests from the app. When this happens (or when your phone is not able to connect to the thermostat) the widget and the app will show ?'s instead of the temperature. It will attempt to reconnect every few minutes (less often if not on wifi).

This app uses the internal URL (IP) and the manufacturer's unprotected local API to control the thermostat. It is for use within your home only. Do not expose your thermostat URL outside of your home network! The thermostat does not provide security to protect it's URL or data, and this app cannot add security on it's own.

It was working great until I did an update recently, now I can no longer see the temperature it is just ?? But the app is definitely talking to the thermostat. Something went wrong with this update. An older version of the app on a different phone still works perfectly fine. For reasons unknown to me it is now working again. Got to love networking haha.

Love this app. There is a small UI bug where when you append a port number to the IP address of the thermostat, the port number drops off when you attempt to edit the thermostat's ip address later. Not a big deal and it still works fine. Seems 3M removed their official Radio Thermostat or it is too many APIs behind my phone. Luckily this app still works, don't want to write my own.

Excellent! Does what stated without any problems. And since company abandoned their cloud service in March 2023 this app is lifesaver! With some efforts it can be integrated to automation and used remotely as well. Thanks for the app! To the negative people with 1star review - try to use your head for other functions than of placing food inside of it.

For use with a ct50, which I used to have, rating would be closer to 5/5. It was great! However, for the ct80, it doesn't seem to take advantage of the added functionality (reading/setting humidity levels, for example, which is why I eventually moved to the ct80) - 3.5/5. Would love to up my rating to a 5/5!

It's fine for what it does -- inside my house. However, that's not what I need. I want to be able to control my thermostat through the Internet as I could do with the Radio Thermostat cloud application. However, the way RT has their system set, the cloud polls the thermostat, so I'd need to dedicate a server to solve that problem. Appreciate the work of the developer, but just replacing the thermostats will be easier for me.

So happy to have just found a replacement for the oem app after having given up looking. I can't control outside of the house but this is so much better than no app. Seeing yesterday and current usage is very helpful even if not as robust as the old school option. Thank you for buildng this app.

Wow, really works! Radio Thermostat app stopped working. Tried this. So far it's great. Only thing it does not seem to do is the radius (set thermostats to away when you exit a given radius around y I urge house) function. IFTTT might work if I can figure it out.

Works better than the official app did (it's gone?), but only locally. If you have an exposed ssh server you can use an ssh port forward for remote access with connectbot. Just setup an ssh local port to the ssh host with the IP of thermostat and port 80 for the destination. I used local port 8888. In the app, set thermostat IP to localhost:8888. Of course, support the developer!
