Are you a Linux/open-source enthusiast? Whether you are or not, if it seems cool to be able to have the Linux desktop on your Android device, then this app is what you're looking for. Currently there is a choice between the Unity desktop, elementary OS' Pantheon desktop, and Gnome. Missing your desktop of choice? Get in touch and if there's enough interest I might just add it 😉Features include a couple of different themes, a search feature which allows you to search from a multitude of different search sources (both local and remote), and customisation options.
If you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to get in touch. The project is open-source with the source code publicly available at https://github.com/RobinJ1995/DistroHopper. If you're less technically-inclined but would still like to contribute, you can join the project's translation team over at https://www.transifex.com/distrohopper/.

Best launcher so far! Despite the missing date and time, icons over lapping the bottom navigation 3 button bar unless the menu is moved from the bottom of the screen to anywhere else, sides or top. This is the best launcher I have tried so far. Easy to find what you are looking for quickly, especially by setting all icon sizes to the smallest as possible.

I think this is a fantastic app. Using it on my Pixel. I use Linux everyday at work and home. I may be an IT guy, but I hate most phone launchers, so I'm super grateful for this simple, straightforward launcher. Support for multiple desktops and widgets would be nice but isn't necassary - maybe moreso on a tablet. Of course it would tickle me greatly if there were a KDE5 theme, but I can't even begin to complain. You have made me happy today. 😁

Fun to play with but it seems to reduce functionality at the expense of esthetics. Don't get me wrong, I love the way the Gnome and Pantheon DE's look but they don't really add anything to my experience from what I can quickly tell. One bug I did notice, if you switch between different desktop environments the back button will take you back to the previously selected environment, especially from the home screen. Keep up the good work, possibly even figure out how to implement Linux software.

I really like this launcher, except there is a couple problems that need fixing, like the innablity to uninstall apps through it, and in the gnome theme, after unpinning an app, the Ubuntu settings icon appears on the end of the launcher bar.

Thank you for not being a cash grab! The other one I tried out that didn't require rooting was worse and a giant cash grab! I'm upset that I've tried so hard to root my phone with no luck. :( This is a little more fun than the regular home screen.

My review was deleted apparently. Great job accepting criticism. So here it is again. This launcher, though nostalgic, is nearly featureless and not worth your time. You could pick any "Lite" launcher on Play and still get more than 10 times the features, even during their beta. It's practically a demo and the app description is just bloat. I understand your passion and nostalgia for Linux, but this is a kid's project. EDIT: Right-click menu IS a submenu...so yes Linux does.

Overall a joy. It will def feel more natural once you tinker with some of the setting, but I love the vibe this launcher gives my phone. True to linux fashion, no ads! I'm rocking it on my phone full time now.

I'm not proud of it, but i rarely rate apps. This app is outstandong though. I would give it 5 stars if it had more Deaktops to emulate. It runs well and looks great.
