Even with the autoplay setting off, it tends to start playing videos no matter what I'm doing in the app. So if I'm looking at help I have to back all the way back out to turn off the video. It also hops to new videos in the middle of videos. The PC (browser) version also has many similar bugs (volume control's really bad). I realize that the TV versions are their primary emphasis, but why have these apps if they're going to be so clunky.

9/2025 still using this app for my News! this was my review 3 yrs ago 😉. (I'm still saying the same thing.) 3wks ago came across this app. Excellent source of the daily News. I've been recommending it to all my friends and family. So easy to navigate even for the elderly people like me. World news is more important than ever for all of us ❤️ appreciate HAYSTACK News tremendously.

I've had some issues here and there. It's really a great app. I enjoy the features and you get a ton for free and through the subscription as well. More importantly, the developer does a fantastic job with the reviews and always offers to assist with repairs. I say an app can be great but if not functional, it's just another app. Enjoy your news!

This app is the only source I use for daily news. It compiles news from many different channels. It's customizable, from local to international; from major headlines to financials. For five dollars a month, the premium service (No Ads) is worth it.

It's just ok, I was able to keep people on X updated w/ a little more "leftist" spin on News, & more detail, some of which is just nuts, it's so bad, but, other reports coming out about, say, the murder of Charlie Kirk, the floods in San Bernardino & elsewhere, that, unfortunately, I can't share at all w/watchers at X, in my estimation, is poor judgement. It leaves out a lot of people who may gravitate to Haystack (to ask) for media clips of own communities, & Nat'l ones as well to post. -D.

Amazing app but here is a new observation! On my Android TV (A12), the news headlines used to display on my home screen just as many as I selected in the app. But on my new A14, they don’t show up anymore, even though other apps like YouTube, Stremio, and BrowseHere still work. Kindly check this issue. I really love that feature of having headlines on my home screen! Besides that, it’s a great app!! Edit: The email with Screen record has been sent as requested.

It's everything news that I need to know about the news. My Mentor turned me on to the Haystack News app about 2 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. I don't need to go anywhere else to get the news. It's all right here from multiple reptable and credible news sources international right here. Who can get any more? It's ingenious. I would, do, and will highly recommend it to anybody anytime. Don't look anywhere else.

I love being able to pick what I'm interested in seeing and even who I want to see it from. The little blurbs in the pop-up notification always lets me know if it's something I want to take time to see right now, or wait a while.
