GoogleFi users please read! If you use Fi make sure that when you start the app you are on the same network that you were on when you registered the app. This'll save you from having to reset the damn thing. You can use an app like FiSwitch to check this and change easily. Of course if they used an otp standard that could be used by other apps this wouldn't be a problem.

Security is a high priority and adding a 2FA method is important to me. With that said, I have used this app several times over the years only to have it "forget" or lose its settings which would lock me out of my account quite often. After a long break away from Square-Enix products I decided to reinstall and give this app another try... after all, it has been a few years. Did they make it better? Nope. It's still as much of a piece of junk as it always has been.... get the physical token.

Horrible. I had reservations about setting up 2FA on my account for a long time because if anything went wrong I'd be relying on a support ticket, and this app does not exactly assuage those concerns with it's vague, barebones nature. I tried setting it up this morning, and my reservations were immediately vindicated. I wasn't able to login *immediately*, despite multiple attempts, and you need to log in at least once to get the removal code. I now am waiting on a ticket to get my account back.

I was locked out of my account for two days. The app suddenly dropped my registration without warning. Then, I asked about the time lost. They said, they "could not give me free time". How is it free, if it's time I paid for? Sure, I wasn't forced to use the app. Also, I wasn't aware of a removal code, until I had this issue. To even suggest it as "free" time is nonsense. I paid twice here, once with my earnings, and again with my trust. The code should be emailed, with the info to register.

Managed to jury rig this app into working on my dual-sim phone by turning off phone permissions on my old phone. It worked right up until when I recently changed phones. I've tried setting up the app and turning off permissions, but now the app detects that and forces me to turn them back on. This means I'm now back to having an app that will reset at the drop of a hat. This wouldn't be as bad if, when the key is registered, Square-Enix made sure you got the emergency removal password, but instead you have to hope you can use the token at least once to log back in and get your emergency removal password.

Update: Still 1star, it looks like the issues from a year ago still exist. Was working fine, until it wasn't, the app reset and now I can't log into my account or the game. Original issue: It will not save credentials. Works for the first 2 days or so and then all the information is lost, causing to have to use the emergency password recovery. So that makes this app useless.

Went to move phones. turns out they stopped letting you register this app now. I have no 2fa cos they just... won't let you register it on the website side of things. I'm guessing the app is still up for those who haven't removed it. WISH I KNEW THAT BEFOREHAND. all I got was the usual warnings for removing it. would have kept my old phone just for it while while I bought a physical token

The most abhorrent security software I have ever used, by far. Don't have access to the phone it came from? Well, too bad, you'll NEVER be allowed back into your account again! Seriously... this is AWFUL. Fiddled with this app for no less than an hour after my old phone broke and there was absolutely nothing I could do to get my account back. Seriously, Square Enix, this is not right...
