แอปพลิเคชัน KKU iNote เป็นหนึ่งในเครื่องมือสำคัญของระบบนิเวศการเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์แบบดิจิทัลที่ถูกพัฒนาขึ้นมาเพื่อใช้เป็นเครื่องมือดิจิทัลสำหรับการปฏิบัติงานการเรียนรู้แบบสะเต็มศึกษาแบบไร้รอยต่อ (Seamless STEM Learning) ผ่านบริบทการปฏิบัติงานวิทยาศาสตร์สืบเสาะที่เสริมสร้างความสามารถในการอธิบายเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์ (Scientific Explanation) และการพัฒนาความสามารถในการเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์ของผู้เรียน โดยที่เน้นการเอื้ออำนวยการบ่มเพาะความสามารถในการสร้างคำอธิบายทางวิทยาศาสตร์ (Scientific Explanation) นอกจากนั้นแล้วยังเป็นเครื่องมือเพื่อช่วยในการปฏิบัติงานการสอนของครูผู้สอนและนำไปสู่การพัฒนาความรู้ในการสอนจำเพาะเนื้อหาโดยใช้เทคโนโลยี (TPACK) สำหรับครูผู้สอนวิทยาศาสตร์ได้ด้วย ซึ่งเครื่องมือนี้ถูกออกแบบและพัฒนาโดยนักวิจัยของมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (Khon Kaen University) ประเทศไทย และถูกนำไปใช้เป็นเครื่องมือในการพัฒนางานการสอนของครูผู้สอนวิทยาศาสตร์และส่งเสริมความสามารถในการเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์ของนักเรียนระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาในโครงการ KKU Smart Learning Academy ของมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นมาตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2560 จนถึงปัจจุบัน
