If you like these participatory story games, Everbyte does a really good job. Duskwood was worth the time and cost to play. Moonvale was also shaping up to be good, but the development pace has slowed to such a crawl that it's no longer worth playing. The time between episodes has become so long and updates so few and far between that I cannot recommend that anyone start it until they make a LOT more progress. Right now playing it is just an exercise in frustration.

honestly this would be a 5/5 game if the price you pay in chapter 1 would give access to every option, extras etc.. for the whole game and not just one episode. It's insane, that the 7,99 € were only for that one short first episode and not for the whole game 😅 I didn't know that until I've reached episode 2 and saw that I had to pay extra for that ep🙈 maybe that's on me but my point still stands. I get that game development costs money but still😐

It's improved from the initial game that came out. It was quite rough from Chapter 1 given the difference between this and Duskwood. However, it is pretty good that there are multiple ways to earn the diamonds. If you aren't patient, you might have to wait a day or two to rack up enough coins and diamonds collectively to make the path choices. The video calls are similar, the story is interesting thus far and I'm looking forward to Chapter 3. Thank you devs for taking the feedback received.

Disappointing so far after Duskwood. I miss being able to play minigames anytime, why are minigames locked as soon as you can progress? What's the point of accumulating hearts if you can't use them anytime? No longer a plot reason for the minigame so it should be freer to use and slowly generate coins. Coin rewards also seem way less frequent now. I can't access the new media pack- all I see are the Duskwood & standard packs. Fix pls!

Updated review: Due to the sharp spike in positive reviews after the release of Episode 2, I was intrigued to see if issues had been addressed. Unfortunately, I can't confirm this myself. The game is still riddled with generated image slop, as was to be expected. The multimedia pack from DW has been reintroduced at the same price, but as a per-episode purchase, and as of yet, I struggle to see the value in it at all. An extremely disappointing update following meagre hopes.

I loved duskwood and expected a similar vibe from this game but it's not met my expectations so far. Instead of the mini games being used to "hack" to unlock different photos, files etc, they are just interspersed frequently to slow the game down with no explanation. The mini games start off super easy, then suddenly get so difficult it takes 10-15 lives to solve one at times. It's frustratingly slow, but I'll stick it out a bit longer to see if it gets better.

After having finished Duskwood 2 years ago and eagerly awaiting this game, I'm a little disappointed. Want to get the full experience out of the game? Spend tons of cash on diamonds or grind your life away on the free diamond methods. It's sad that there's no longer an option to do a one-time purchase and unlock the extra dialogue that way. Instead, each time, you either feel like you have to miss out or spend real money to stock up on diamonds because those extra dialogue options aren't cheap.

duskwood being 1 of the best chat simulators on mobile left me with high expectations, expecting at least the same level of effort & originality put into it as they did for DW. instead, a rushed out, cheap joke of a game. story is decent, but the gem system ruins it badly. had to double check if this game is made by the same devs as from DW. make it a 1-time purchase &, lower the cost for skipping minigames/unlocking special answers. freezing minigames to slow the pace of the game, why?? big no
