It's pretty cool and sometimes beautiful. Contains some errors such as for the Rome tour, stop 28, Baths of Caracalla is labeled on the overview map in the wrong place, someone switched around the Baths of Caracalla with the Baths of Diocletian. Narration is solid but not overly technical. I wish it was possible to fly around like Google earth. I wish they showed cardinal directions on the horizon as you rotate around. I wish there were more street level views instead of mostly birds eye view.

I appreciate what these folks do, but they could go about getting funding a little better.. The website won't show anything except a link to the app... So they get that download just so you can see what they offer... Then of course they have free and premium... Premium being a RECURRING $30/year fee.... I might give you that for permanent access... But not every year just to look at some 3D models. I'm sure it's hard work, and I do have a BA in History, but those are some sketchy methods.

Fantastic learning tool! You can visit several ancient locations that have been brought back to life in the most accurate reconstructions we have. There are a couple of 3d free roam locations, too, including the Roman Forum. If you enjoy ancient history and seeing what it would've looked like, I can't recommend this enough. It's all free too!

Not nearly enough content to pay $30 per year. I don't know why they'd think this is a reasonable price for something you can blow through in a day. They also grab your email before telling you that you have to pay anything. There are other simulators, maybe this one is more accurate, but the level of accuracy doesn't make enough difference; it's still early 2000s level digital quality. Just play Assassin's Creed and you'll get much more of an experience in ancient cities.

Just downloaded - Smithsonian recommendation. So far it seems really great! Started a tour and the area is reconstructed so you can see it at its best. An expert guides the tour and the commentary is interesting and not too long at each site. That's all for now, but it seems very worth checking out!

I was worried this app would be a small collection of maybe 20 minute rushed tours. To my surprise they are full length, 3-4 hour long tours guided by professionals in the field. I know this app may be new but I have high hopes for it and would enjoy seeing sites in Asia, South America and walkthroughs of art museums.

Incredible app that allows virtual tours of ancient places. I'm impressed with the length of the tours and I really like the free roam. This app comes recommended by The Smithsonian and I can see why. I highly recommend this app. It's enjoyable and educational. Very well done.

No free samples of what it delivers. Need to sign up and pay $30 per annum to use it. Not fair when it is impossible to see the quality first. The brief video does not really help at all.
