It's alright. I expected more for that price tag though, like different modes for testing, maybe having to write some words. It's all hiragana/katakana and then there's a small explanation for the extra sounds and that's it. There are enough free apps and websites that do the same or even better. It's also way too forgiving when you test yourself. You can draw sloppily or completely different kana than asked and it just accepts it without the option to redraw it, very easy to develop bad habits.

Super great app but two flaws. looses data sometimes can't get to the hardest parts without going the whole things the " extra marks section. then it doesn't work on pc for people have trouble with seeing.i use a 65 inch tv for most stuff and have an 11 inch tablet that makes my eyes hurt but i have almost mastered hiragana and katakana but now i have to learn the " special punctuation and you can't use google translate for japanese it doesn't have it. keyboard and no punctuation (" ) marks.

Helped me learn hiragana and katakana along with Duolingo - but this taught me to write much better than Duo did. I wish there were practice options in between "learn" and "test", though. People tend to learn best through spaced repetition, and in order to do that, I had to manually repeat lessons. Even just an option to repeat each unit as a full chunk instead of selecting each individual letter would make a big difference.

Very easy to use. Memorized all the hiragana and katakana characters using this app. Although some characters have a different way of being written here, versus some Japanese scripts I see everywhere. However, the differences aren't major. Some examples I've spotted so far are the "a" in katakana and "ki" in hiragana. But as I said, it's not a major deviation.

By far the best for learning hiragana and katakana. the makers of this app really understand how memory works, so they have a bunch of really clever ways to make you remember the symbols faster and with far superior recall than just forced memorization or flash cards and you learn the symbols not in alfabetical order but instead in an order that makes sense for the 🧠. I've tried at least four apps and this one is in a class of its own. very well thought out!

It's useful but when attempts to draw the hiragana are being tested, the lines aren't recognised unless they are very precisely where the originals are, which means many frustrating attempts to write a character and then move on to the next. Would be less frustrating if some variation were allowed, consistent with normal variations in handwriting

I really liked this app, I liked how it approached, actually helped me memorize sounds and I also loved the character, until I finished the first 7 character and it hit me with the only option to pay. I was very disappointed because it doesn't even have a choice for free with less content. I get that you need to make money, it just saddened me since it was so sudden and I really thought it'd be life changing using this. I'm learning Japanese fro fun, so I don't have the money to pay, sadly.

This app helped me to learn Hiragana and Katakana at my own pace and the mnemonics provided really help you remember the characters. It was a lot harder than I was expecting when I first got started, but the reviews make you draw each character multiple times and then plays the sound after each one so you end up learning then very well. I highly recommend this app for anyone learning Japanese! The one time fee of $8 is very low for how much value this app provides!
