What is Intermittent Fasting?

Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting. It does not say anything about which foods to eat, but rather when you should eat them.

There are several different intermittent fasting methods, all of which split the day or week into eating periods and fasting periods. Most people already "fast" every day, while they sleep. Intermittent fasting can be as simple as extending that fast a little longer. You can do this by skipping breakfast, eating your first meal at noon and your last meal at 8 pm.

Then you're technically fasting for 16 hours every day, and restricting your eating to an 8-hour eating window. This is the most popular form of intermittent fasting, known as the 16/8 method.

Despite what you may think, intermittent fasting is actually fairly easy to do. Many people report feeling better and having more energy during a fast.

Hunger is usually not that big of an issue, although it can be a problem in the beginning, while your body is getting used to not eating for extended periods of time.

No food is allowed during the fasting period, but you can drink water, coffee, tea and other non-caloric beverages.

Some forms of intermittent fasting allow small amounts of low-calorie foods during the fasting period.

Taking supplements is generally allowed while fasting, as long as there are no calories in them.

Cons: expensive pro version considering the simplicity of the app. Pro version doesn't import data from free version, so you lose your data. Weight graphs are plotted right to left, which looks weird. Inputs are clunky - weight unit kept reverting to kg and dates kept reverting to current date Pro: you can add your weight history from the past. I wish you could also add fasting history too. Refund requested. $6 is entirely too much for this app

Exactly what I was looking for. No journey, personal assistant, subscription, etc. Just a simple fasting app. All I'm missing at this price point is a homescreen widget that shows me the remaining time + the option to stop the fast OR a way to start the time. Or if a fast is set to default the time remaining until end/start of a fast. The sticky notification is OK but feels like only half a solution.

I love the flexibility of editing!!!!!! I don't use a fitness app or recipes, but I really like being able to record the fast before It's finished and change it to the actual end when I am done that day. I had to go back several times at first to correct the data and I just so like that I am in charge of the data, not the app. I want a record keeper I control, not someone else's idea of how to put the information down. That is really why I gave it five stars. It's perfect for my needs.

Excellent app has lots of features and no monthly subscription fee like so many others. I like that you can go back and change and correct previous fast and there are lots of charts and historical information. The only thing I don't like is there's no way to change centimeters to feet and inches for inputting your height.

This is the one. The best, most straightforward of all the fasting apps. If only there was a widget that just let you start or stop a fast while also telling you how long you've been fasting or how long since youve fasted. Even without it, this is the one. More of just a feature I'd like a lot.

Very good app for fasting. I would like to have more statistics, charts and thats stuff, but it is just my preference. The average fasting is counted from future days also. Which is kind of weird and also useless in my opition. I would like to see change in some upcoming updates. Or maybe I am wrong and this is just a feature.

Exactly what I'm looking for. Simple, user-friendly interface, easy calendaring, let me retroactively apply a fast [from last night] and brought my fast forward to now. Winner winner chicken dinner, made my day! What would really be nice is if could add a short note to each fast to identify type of fast - water, broth, Bulletproof coffee, dry fast, etc....

Using this app since 2018. Does it's job very well. One suggestion: add waist circumference tracking, which is a simple yet effective measure that can be incorporated into a better health indicator than just trivial BMI. I'm not using the water part at all, I think it's completely useless.
