I believe this app is best suited for retaining what you've already learned. Moreover, I had 5 years of French, and now I don't. This app provides a way for me to keep French refreshed in my mind; instead of completely forgetting it. In other words, I recommend this app to those who already have learned the language. If you're new, you'll still learn something, but not as efficient as taking a class/having a teacher. Additionally, the 5 minutes is alright, paying for unlimited time - for me - is not necessary.

Very engaging and fun, but equally frustrating. I get the "give you a taste and get you hooked and wanting more" concept, but 5 minutes every 10 hours is just too short a time for me to decide if the app is worth paying for, especially since some of the 5 minute sessions were nothing but review of previous words. If each free session lasted 10-15 minutes AND introduced a hint of something new, I'd be more inclined to upgrade now. For now, I'm waiting a few days to see if it has more to offer.

I love this app! It's so thoughtfully designed. After a few days, I bought the premium and I don't regret it at all. It's colorful, extensive, easy to use. I have severe narcolepsy and learning languages is exceptionally hard for me because it's difficult to stay awake. Now I can do 5 minutes at random times throughout the day, review words at any time I need to. If you tap on a word, it gives you the normal pronunciation. If you tap again, it gives the pronunciation slowed down! So cool.

I downloaded this app because I have decided to take the French course at my school, and I wanted to get a head start on my learning. I downloaded 4 different apps ( this one being one of them) they were all very nice in there own way, but none of them caught my attention the way Drops has. it is fun and addictive. the pictures of what you are trying to say help you memorize the words better. over all 5 stars!

Update: reduced another star for adding instruisive features that interrupt and slow down the learning. Update: with the latest update, the learners are immediately greeted with a full page ad prompting the users to buy the subscription. This is a great incentive to drive users to other apps with less aggressive advertisement. The biggest problem of Drops is the lack of easy feedback and community support. It's far more lacking than Duolingo in this area. Good for beginners.

I've tried all the language learning apps to brush up on college French. This is by far my fave: the simplest, most user-friendly, and considerate app out there. I've tried other 5-min learning apps, but haven't learned as much in 5 mins! The only things that are missing for me (maybe this comes later?) are listening comprehension and writing and grammar. If I stumble across these later in the app, I'll happily update my review. In the meantime, I'll just supplement with podcasts.

Just opened it up and tried it out. It's oddly satisfying to use. The interface is modern, fluent, and colorful! The challenges are varied, and I appreciate how they make you think beyond "associate this word in French with English". It's a fun way to test memorization and I'm all for it. I'd recommend trying out the app if you are curious. Being limited to 5 minutes a day stinks, but I'll admit it makes buying it tempting because of how satisfying and effective it is.

I tried Japanese drops a while ago, and even though it was giving me notifications, I didnt feel motivated. I decided to try French instead, because it's another language I really want to learn. This app has updated and now I feel more motivated to learn my French! I really love this app and that it's only 5 minutes a day! It's not much time but this app still manages to teach you so much!
