This app has served me well for the last few months, but I purchased an annual subscription 5 months ago, and now they're closing down the app. I've attempted to request a refund on Google Play, but because it's been so long, I'm unable to even submit a request. i also contacted Lightricks, Photoleap's parent company, and they told me that they're unable to offer any support because I purchased the subscription through the Play Store. They're offering no support.

This is a really good photo editing app! I especially love the AI filters and my favorite is the AI art generator. The feature where the AI turns your photo into a photo collage that looks as if it's made up of something else, like a cityscape. Also their customer service email is you encounter any problems, is quick and they care to solve your issue.

I prepaid for a year subscription, but they suddenly discontinued the service with 5 months left on my account. Lightricks said they had no record of my payment because it was through the Play Store. The Play Store customer service won't refund the 5 months I paid for because "it's not their policy." Apparently, their policy is to let developers take your money without providing the agreed-upon service.

Subscribed for two years, then they shut it down. JUST renewed and they announced it's going away. When I asked for a refund they responded that I have to get the refund "from Google Play." I'll make a point of ensuring I don't ever use an app from this developer moving forward. By the way, Google Play indicates that 48 hours after the purchase, any refunds are in the hands of the developer. So Photoleap's halt was done with no intention of refunding, it appears.

With the announcement in-app that Photoleap is being removed from Android, one of the best and most fun photo editing tools is being taken away. I can imagine why this decision was made - most likely a poor business model, since it's always about the money. There was no attempt to change the model so the app can be maintained, as usual. I'm sure many would pay more for a fully maintained and improved solution. Or maybe this is another example of Apple forcing exclusivity, because monopolies 😕

Confusion

Was a cool app like a year ago. Every time I open it, a feature seems to be removed or broke. There are lots of errors generating images, with it sometimes just not letting you do any editing for no apparent reason. When it does generate something, it often doesn't look very good and requires lots of tweaking. Edit because I just realized the images they use to advertise the app show features that aren't in the app anymore. Actual false advertising. Shame! Also customer support sucks.

This app had the absolute best photo from text generator you could use from a phone, but the last update removed it, it had tons of options and choices of style filters (if wanted) and made photo realistic detailed images, but now it's gone. There are some decent photo editing options and a good face switch, but most other ai options are poor at best. I'll be un subscribing for now and hoping they bring the text to image back
