1. Play real drum rhythms.
2. Listen to each character’s story through their song’s lyrics and vocals.
3. The controls are easy to learn, but hard to master.
4. Enjoy 160 stages and 32 tracks.

1. Play real drum rhythms.

Rhythm Journey is centered around each track’s drum beat. Specifically, the game play focuses on the drum’s kick and snare, which can be described as the ‘boom’ sound and the ‘pat’ sound. Rhythm Journey also contains a variety of genres, rhythms, beats, and techniques (pop, rock, funk, Bossa nova, swing, shuffle, 8-beat, 16-beat, 4/4 beat, 3/4 beat, syncopation, fill-in, etc.) that are used in real music, so you feel as if you’re actually playing the drums.

2. Listen to each character’s story through their song’s lyrics and vocals.

Rhythm Journey is a rhythm game with a story. Centered around your main adventure, where you are saving the world of sound by passing the rhythm paths, each song contains various tales about various emotions in an omnibus format. Listen to stories that are sometimes warm, sometimes sad, sometimes about life, and sometimes even philosophical through song lyrics and character vocals.

3. The controls are easy to learn, but hard to master.

Rhythm Journey is a game played with only two buttons, but it's high difficulty makes it so you have to almost play perfectly to get to the end of each song. In addition, you have to respond to various patterns, such as changing your speed and direction.
However, assist options such as the ability to automatically go through each track can help you make it through the game. As long as you don’t give up and stay determined, you will always be able to make progress until your hard work pays off and you finally beat the level.

4. Enjoy 160 stages and 32 tracks.

Rhythm Journey has 32 tracks (27 with lyrics and vocals, 5 instrumentals), with each track containing 5 stages for a total of 160 stages to play. You can also test your mastery of the game by speeding up each track.

I really love the concept, however everything seems unpolished and unfinished: Animations are inaccurate or slightly buggy (especially for yellow lines), the difficulty curve seems unbalanced and there are loads of grammar mistakes that break the immersion... Also watching a single character monologue for a while is boring and does not make for interesting storytelling, no matter how good your actual story may be. I'm looking forward to seeing this get updated and will play more then.

My biggest issue with the game is that it is needlessly hard if you miss once you lose which makes the game "hardcore". The difficulty jump from the first level and the second level is way too big. The TTS voices used are terrible it makes the songs sound worse, including a way to disable them would have been great. The first song is great and pretty catchy actually meanwhile the second one feels uninspired and generic. Would't buy.

This is what a mobile game aspires to be. I discovered this game through the partnership with 7th Beat Games, and I've already bought the expansion, as I love the "organic" nature of the game - no ads forced down your throat, no UI bloat, just a hand-crafted indie game and the music composed by the developer. From what I've experienced so far, this game has so much potential - if the game ever gets a level editor or PC release, you bet I'll be near first on the list for it!

I've gotten trough the first 3 gems of the game, here are my thoughts so far: Gameplay: its very fun. The simplicity of simply touching where you need to bounce works very well. Most levels are very fun to play trough. Music: the instrumental is good, but i personally dont really like the voice of the singer, but that's just a preference of mine. Overall i found the game being very fun and it was worth the 2 dollars i spent.

Very cool rhythm game! It has simple mechanics, but is challenging! You can play one set of levels for free before needing to spend $2.99 usd for the full game. Informative tutorial! I do wish it had achievements (which at this point I do not see) One issue is I have two email accounts, and it keeps trying to use the second account over my main one. I would love to buy the full game, but I can't using that email.

The idea and music is great, but it feels a little unpolished. When I first opened the game there was no music or sound effects at all, even for the dialogue, so I had to check that my phone wasn't muted. I found the controls very hard to get used to. It seems like it should be one side for blue and one for red, but I suppose that could make the game repetitive if it always maps the drums. It will get easier as I play the game though.

(This review is only based of the first 2 songs in the game and is subjected to change once I bought the rest of the game. TY) This game is challenging but fun! The songs here are great, the difficulty is hard but it will definitely make you feel accomplished. There no ads, but as a compromise you can pay the price of [3$?] For more songs. It's kinda a shame that not a lot of people see this game, so I will definitely buy the rest of the game.

Rhythm journey is a fantastic rhythm game! Very easy to understand, but used in such difficult ways that it always feels satisfying to beat the levels, especially patterns introduced later on. Gameplay always synced well to the music, visuals are simple but nice, music for the most part is very good (would've liked more non-vocaloid songs though). The story could do with some bg/dialogue noise to stop it feeling awkward when they talk, and it would be nice to have mobile achievements as well!
