A great program once you get accustomed to all it has to offer! Much better app than others out there (like Duo Lingo) because you are listening to native speakers rather than synthesized speech. The audio sometimes has a bit of static but that could depend on the Internet connection. Also, you hear playback of what you sound like compared to the native speakers! The sky is the limit with how far you can go, too.

My rating reflects more negatively on the app than the software itself. TL has some of the best software and curation for language-learning, especially more obscure languages. I love how you can seamlessly integrate your own vocabulary and the variety of evaluation methods. But the phone app struggles with basic functionality at the slightest perceived interruption to internet connection. Allowing for downloadable or offline lessons would resolve many of these issues.

Great learning program. Had issues before with videos not loading. Was a huge deal but I felt that I was missing out on some extra information. This did require me having to log onto the website to complete lessons sometimes and receive all lesson materials. Fixed now and everything seems to be working great! I've tried a few language learning applications (Rosetta stone, busu, etc) and I have enjoyed this one the most.

The app repeatedly disconnected from my Bluetooth headset and reverts to the phone speaker even though the headset is still connected for audio. It happens every time I record speech as part of a lesson. Also, you can't turn romanization off, which is super annoying for Korean because it messes up learning pronouncing and reading. I was excited to try the free trial but I'm going back to Lingodeer.

Really nice alternative for learning Japanese compared to other apps, which tend to struggle with languages that use non-Latin writing systems. I love the cultural lessons and the recording analysis, though that currently isn't working. The support team was great and responded quickly when I sent in a ticket about the recording, but I wish there was more publicly available information about bugs and how long fixes should take.

I had tried this ap before and found it to be buggy and less robust than the desktop interface so I Uninstaller it. Thought I would try the app again to see if it is better. It's working well now! now! The mic feature is working (go to your app settings to enable it) and the interface is smooth. It's so great to have transparent lessons on my phone again so I can practice anywhere.

I really like Transparent. People have different ways of learning and Transparent works for me. I especially like hearing a word pronounced and being able to see the sound wave of it when it's properly pronounced. Then the app records you saying the same word and shows you how what you've said matches a native speaker. Great app for me.

I downloaded the app on my phone however I couldn't log in after several attempts. I have an account through my local library and I got several different other library patrons hooked on the Transparent Languages database as well. However, I've noticed that people who also have an account through their local libraries who download to use the app can't login even though their password and username information is correct. I hope Transparent Languages can correct this issue.
