Functional, simple app. A few tips to ensure success: 1. use the wifi direct option. 2. hold your smartphone within 2 feet of light fixture when connecting. 4 Stars because Lunar option is too bright and intensity cannot be turned down, and also because Acclimation option does not display the start/stop date and does not display reduced light intensity during the cycle.

TL;DR: Amazing lights, mediocre application. Stable and usable application, but it would benefit from having more pre-programed options to choose from than 'standard', 'acclimation', etc. Better yet, an ability to upload/side load tested configurations from a community like reef2reef into the app and apply them with one tap. Also, no ability to update firmware from the app, must use a computer? That seems short-sighted; or if this is possible, it's not clear at all where to do it.

Absolutely terrible control app, even when it works. After about twenty tries. But after that, it still runs extremely slow, constantly glitches, gets stuck in various functions, and simply lacks proper control. I first got one of these lights when they first came out. Figured the app back then just had growing pains. Three years later, it's just as bad. And their only response, including to reviews here, is to contact them. I did, and the reply was useless. Basically said "it is what it is."

Complete garbage. When trying to connect to the fixture with WIFI the app itself starts to connect at the enter password screen then immediately the wireless connection to the fixture immediately disconnects. 50 60 times it doesn't matter. I have 2 of these fixtures and the software is absolute embarrassment. Kessil this is complete garbage. I'll never buy a Kessil fixture EVER again. Thanks for stealing $1400 from me.

Had some initial problems with getting the lamp to connect. Sent out some emails and got useful responses. Great light, helpful customer service. Edit: had light for 5 years now. And I have several other tanks with different lights. Explosive growth with the kessil ap700 in comparison with other types of lights, same water parameters, same types of corals, same feeding and schedule. The ap700 runs circles around everything else.

The app is trash... I'm wishing I didn't spend $1600 of these lights. The apps sucks and it WILL not let me connect them together. It just fails 50 times in a row when I try to add the second lamp. I made each light their own program and had to run them like that. Except for the fact their internal clock must be off an hour because I set the exact same settings to them but they change an hour apart from each other... these lights are VERY frustrating to connect to.

App is garbage. Good luck getting it to connect. Direct works best but the app is super buggy and always drops the lamps. Then have to go through the whole setup process over and over for it to not work. Get a different light. The AP700 is overpriced especially for this horrible of an app to control it.

For such a high end light this is worse than what id expect from a bottom end wifi unit. Always glitches and goes put of sync. Then you have to try about 20 times to connect again. Kessil why dont you actually put some money into this absolute trash app you have created and make it on par with the light quality. Id give it 0 stars if i could.
