Generally very cool app and I'll stick with it for sure, but the voice recognition feature is quite weak. When I learned numbers it translated what I said to a literal number, so I could never pass that test. Same for month, it declines my answers only because the result of voice recording comes in lowercase, while the original word stars from upper... Very frustrating, but, once again, so far one of the best resources. Thank you

I like the set up and the way it works and everything. there are some technical issues though, like the speaking into the microphone thing doesn't work very well, and if you guess completely the wrong word it still tells you you're right. also there are some vocabulary issues, like I do know a little afrikaans and some of this is just wrong... like the best word for call is not naam, it's bell. name means name or to name but if you call some one it's bell.

I think its a high quality app. I would recommend it.There are a few English words not correctly translated.eg. nm.(afternoon) the program kept pm which is the English.For the person who wanted more sentences: if you click the little blue icon on the left of the word it opens sentences. The recorder works perfectly but when you click the red record button wait for it to make circles. Then you speak. Immediately switch off when finished.

Useful app. The structure of learning at your own pace is helpful, the practice exercises in listening reading, writing and the variety of subjects is invaluable for a number of situations. I enjoy getting the Afrikaans word of the day. The randomness of the words introduces a brand new word to my vocabulary. However, there are ads and some errors I found within the modules. There are several words and expressions that repeat within a module.

Lots and lots of mistakes in it (like oranje for the fruit orange and vye for one fig) and many example sentences and audio missing. Disappointing after I paid for the app. It should not have this many flaws. You should get someone to check the entire app for you to fix it all and complete all the sections you say will come in "the next version". I'm trying to teach my 13 year old son Afrikaans with this app.

Disappointing. When I opened the app the first thing I noticed was spelling and grammar mistakes. I am an Afrikaans teacher who is hunting for an error-free app for my second language learners. The pronunciations are also not of the best. I should reiterate that correct spelling is crucial when learning a new language.

As a student, I think this is a very helpful app, although the app could use a little bit of work on how it organizes everything. But overall, I'd give it a 5 star. It doesn't limit you to anything when learning.

Need to add whole phrases for more advanced learners. The app is also missing some functions and needs a serious update. The microphone is an absolute joke. My brother (who is from South Africa) spoke into it and it was still saying he was incorrect, and he also says that there are a lot of errors that need correction. This is why I hesitate to purchase the full version.
