It's been years since I got the U1000(F & R, and hard-wired to a battery pack), the 'Remote Live View' never really worked. Maybe if I'm lucky, it would work once a year. The purpose of getting this dashcam for me is to be able to remote live view. Of course, other functions of a dashcam are also expected to be that of standard operational. But, the 'Remote Live View' is horrible. I just bought a Viofo for my daughter, and it is user-friendly, and it works flawlessly. DO NOT BUY THINKWARE.

The app doesn't seem to work well with android devices only with iPhones. The way I got my note 9 to work with it was to put it in airplane mode or disable the data and it allows me to connect properly including viewing the camera. I couldn't do that with my data on that's the current way I use it for now.

The app does not seem to allow users to choose the download location for files transferred from dash cam. I have F800. When connected via WiFi downloads start without any input for where they should be put on my device. I would rather they go to my SD rather than internal memory. Maybe can be fixed in update? Also firmware update does not work. Support non existent.

I have a U1000 that I cannot register with the cloud, so this app is pretty useless. Will update this review if their support manage to get it working. UPDATE: Thinkware were having server problems preventing registrations. Now that's fixed, the app is actually quite good. A service status page would have helped me diagnose my problem almost immediately instead of wasting a weekend chasing wild geese.

As others have said, nice hardware incredibly poor software. Live view refuses to work on my Pixel 4 yet works on an ages old iPhone 4S. The direct wifi connection is clunky as well as the rest of the features of the app. The hotspot setup is even worse, you have to "X" out the screen to get it to work? Why does my phone need hotspot capability just to program in a DIFFERENT internet connection? It makes no sense. This app needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Application force quits constantly, can't change settings unless in the car and connected. Should be able to queue up settings for next time it's connected. Are videos supposed to upload to the cloud while connected to hotspot because I can only watch them when sitting in the car, but the cam always connects to my hotspot spot. Camera is nice, all is worthless.

I previously wrote a review with 1 star. But, the issue was not in the app. Apparently, the issue was this: the storage card got write-protected. However, the FW never reported this. One turns on the car, and it seems business as usual. But: no recordings since last 6 months, and unable to connect from the phone. Replaced the card, updated the FW, and now it records and connects. Please let fw devs know on this issue - otherwise, there is no trust the device records events!

Great hardware but really bad software. It really does let the camera down. Q800Pro and Android 11. Slow download speeds, Flaky WiFi connection, No thumbnails on reviewing video, Sensitivity on motion is still way too high on the lowest option, Not able to connect to camera over car WiFi. All this stops me wanting to review video footage on the fly, so something has to make me really want to connect to it. Which is a real shame, as would love it to be just quick, simple and reliable.
