Used to be great, I actually chose to use Esso stations for the commodity of using the app and not queuing, but now it just never works. Constantly saying Service Error when I get close to a station and doesn't even open. It is definitely an app issue as there is plenty of phone service and have reinstalled the app several times without success. No reason anymore for me to use Esso stations anymore so I'll go to a cheaper stations for now on, which is basically any other fuel station. Well done.

Good app making paying easy. Recent issues I have experienced is nectar needs verifying quite regularly, slow to show fueling has completed and paid, offers slow to load or fails. Main issue now is using nectar points to get money off fuel has never worked, I have no idea if this is a location specific offer. update. Redeeming nectar points for money off was never fixed, I doubt it works for anyone.

So slow and unreliable - sometimes does not even authorise and you have to drive off as you are sick of waiting to complete the transaction. Update... Tried again today and it could not find my location anymore without scanning pump and then refused to let me use my authorised RBS Black credit card in Google pay despite having used it many times before. Useless and getting worse. Update... Have to now verify identity with bank and fails. End of line. Pointless waste of time. Uninstalled!!!

After multiple emails and calls I have finally given up on this poor app. Regularly doesn't confirm payment and I need to go in store to confirm the payment is okay. Has completely stopped updating my nectar points which I have now manually requested several times. My filling progress has not updated on at least my last three fills. Which has left me short of achieving bonus points. The shell garage (closer to my home) is consistently 2p cheaper. Sorry Esso, I've been patient.

Really like the app when it works, there have been a lot of updates but since the last one the biometric unlock has stopped working and causes an app error. I have to use my PIN to unlock. There is still an ongoing issue when fuelling that even in a strong signal area (and with someone holding onto my phone in the car to keep the screen activated) the payment/fuelling graphics don't always process correctly and get stuck on 'fuelling now'. I have to check email for receipt.

Further issues, the app is still inconsistent, and yet again, I will miss out on 750 points for my final fill this month as the app won't connect to my local station, saying pay inside??? It's not great when when the reward scheme is attached to the use of the app??? When it does work, it's great, but too many times, there are issues of one type or another...

The app was supposed to make it easier to refuel. Constant issues with logging in/payment. Several times now I've pulled up at my local Esso station and the app won't work and tells me to pay in store. I asked the guy on the till and he said it should be working (Ripon) but he has had loads of complaints it doesn't work. I've now decided to get fuel from somewhere else as the only reason I use Esso is for the rewards in app but if I can't do that what's the point.

Good app WHEN IT WORKS but my latest 2 fills resulted in zero Nectar points added to my account (despite Nectar account being correctly linked). Not experienced this previously and I reported both issues to Customer Care section. Slightly fed up now, I may abandon this app and buy fuel elsewhere. Month or two ago, I couldn't use app when my local Esso fuel station upgraded its own systems (eventually resolved) so frustrating!!
