An expansion by Zarista Games.

The Quest - Celtic Rift is an expansion to The Quest, a beautifully hand-drawn open world role playing game with old school grid-based movement and turn based combat.

After enabling the expansion, you can explore new areas and adventures. However, if you don't have The Quest, you can also play the expansion as a standalone game.

You've received a letter from King Mersant bidding you travel urgently to the Islands of Lubdan in the far away country of Loegria. When you land, you find out who really summoned you there. Be ready for adventure. You could easily die, so keep extra save files!

To access the new areas (not applicable if you are playing the expansion standalone), go to Matras harbor and talk to captain Verra, then select "Celtic Rift" as your travel destination. It's recommended you reach at least level 15 before taking on the challenges posed by this expansion.

The logic in this expansion doesn't make much sense. There are a lot of things you wouldn't know that you're supposed to do unless you read a guide. Some areas are too packed with rocks and trees that getting through them is a nightmare, especially when you're in the middle of combat and can only move one space at a time. The game is in a weird position with the starting level being 14ish. You have to choose either this or Fire and Ice after you beat The Quest (if you're wanting to run a single character through each dlc). If you want to go back to one after the other it will be too easy. For the price you are definitely getting your money's worth. So I'd still suggest giving it a try (with a guide).

High level loot is so abundant as to obviate all difficulty. Loot is scattered on the ground every so many steps (even where it makes little sense) which hurts immersion. This is not true of the base game or Islands of Ice and Fire - which makes the transition to Celtic Rift jarring (I love base and ice/fire). Thor's Hammer has this same problem.

I enjoyed that my character is obsessed with fishing. I loved the flower maiden. I hated Merlin, pathing, map disabled mazes, and removed content. Also getting lots of quest all at once makes you forget. There are some bugs with Parks & Recreation and vagueness of quests. There was a post in forum "elf sippli y u so vague???" In this game, lots of unlikeable characters that you cannot beat up. I think antagonist action was justifiable. Let your character practice solitude and go for fish.
