3 years after my previous report, it seems nothing has changed. The app just does not read the card on my Samsung phone. it works fine on my son's iPhone. I'm still getting the same error message that something has gone wrong. So frustrating. PREVIOUS REVIEW Just bought a leap card. The only option the app is offering is to use NFC and I just keep getting a SOMETHING WENT WRONG error message. USELESS 🤬

Nothing works. From showing balance to save card, not fogetting it doesn't topup. I mean it does if you keep trying dozen times. UNBELIEVABLE!!! 2025.07.05: 4 years after my first review, still the same. it takes dozens attempts to proper read a card (tried 4 different cards). you have to save a payment for each different card, the screen to save card data keeps shaking/trembling then to pay it fails to read card and I had to start all over again.

I have never used such a poorly designed app. It may be my phone but the nfc is barely functional and it takes multiple frustrating tries to enter my account. Whenever you are trying to enter details or do anything it constantly gets you to read your card, erasing all the details you just entered. This is especially annoying when you are trying to catch a bus. And the fact you need to scan your card to top up or do anything....WHY NOT JUST LET ME MAKE AN ACCOUNT AND REGISTER CARDS???!!

the lack of reliability with this app is so frustrating. Just want to top up my card for morning commute, 45 mins in & still no joy. Keep getting the something went wrong msg. I have closed & opened the app, I've cleared cache, I've uninstalled & reinstalled the app, I've restarted my phone a number of times and still I get the same message. There are no other instant top up options. I don't mind problems & glitches, but this much effort & still no joy. Its not okay

Hello. I've been stuck in the same problem as many other users of this app. Had a problem with the identification of the Leap card by my phone. I've passed through lots of different methods to fix that before I understood. The problem has occurred only when I'm using a non-Irish SIM card for mobile data. So my big advice to everyone who's faced similar problems - try to top up using local wi-fi or using mobile data from an Irish sim card. And my big advice to creators - please, fix it.

For an app that's been up and running for this many years it's bizaare that I can't log into my Leap card account through the app. I can top up my card through the app and add tickets but if I want to manage my leap card account I have to go to their actual website? And don't get me started on the fact you need another app to view bus times, another app again to buy tickets etc. TFI Apps are a waste of tax payer money.

Infuriating to use. Why does the user have to press their Leap card against their phone just to access the app, and then even to validate their top-up after the money has left their account? Think of someone in a rush, trying to top up their Leap as they speedwalk to the bus. If contact is broken with the card even for a second, they have to start over and over again. Also: what if someone else wants to send money to your Leap card say a friend or a family member? Poor design.

Same problem as other Samsung users, the app does not work. Galaxy A33 , Android 15. Tried all recommendations (repositioned card, removed cover, rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled, tried different card) Nothing works. Tried the same card on a Motorola phone, worked perfectly first time. You need to address this and not dismiss all these reports as user errors.
