SolarWriter gives you the best of both worlds.
SolarWriter running on your Android device acts as a hub between your keyboard and your e-reader. You type on the keyboard, and the text appears on both on the Android device and on the e-reader's screen (via its web browser).
Take advantage of your Kindle's (or other e-reader's) e-ink screen to put your thoughts on paper even outside, with no need to transcribe later.
Write at parks, on beaches, in backyards... anywhere you wanted to but couldn't.

I just bought the solar writer premium today and I think it's a pretty good piece of software! However one of its premium features is not working - the OLED blackout. This is meant to save battery on your phone because the app needs to be on and open for your e-reader to be connected. The issue is, you have to click into the solar writer text box in order to start typing, but if you want to blackout your screen you have to press the button "OLED blackout" which unfocuses the text box

The bug ken luu talked about just got fixed, the app refreshes fairly fast again. Thought i'd rate it as an update - ive been looking for a way to use the kindle for writing for so long and this has been effortless and easy

hello please fix the bug with android app that is unusable when connected to keyboard - the screen would not refresh until another paragraph later. I've tried this on the Mac app and it works.

Very cool, found another use for my kindle . Weird bug that doesn't allow me to delete any of the notes within the app itself.

Love this program. Basically it is turning your Android or IOS device into a tiny web server. Your bluetooth keyboard is connected to your Android or IOS device and you can use your E-ink Reader via wifi or hotspot to view the actively updated web page. That way you can type out in the bright sunlight using the E-ink display instead on your Android or IOS device. One of these days Kindle may add BT keyboard support. Until then this is the cleanest work around. I had no issues connecting.

What is this app? It doesn't even open, all I get is a grey screen. Came across it on a blog, thought, oh what a great idea. Unfortunately, it doesn't work at all. If I could give it 0 stars, I would! No description and no reviews should have tipped me off but in my haste I didn't pay attention. I wonder what's the point of having it on the app store?

Takes lot time to sync.. Is there any way to increase refresh rate? Very very slow. Tried 2G/3G/LTE/5G networks but it's very slow in syncing the typed content
