Perfect workhorse app. Migrated from Evernote, to Simplenote, now been using Neutrinote exclusively for over a year. Not very exciting on the surface, but again: my Android note-taking has been exclusively on Neutrinote for over a year now. I don't even *know* if there's better alternatives because I haven't felt the need to look. PLUSES: Fast; Maximalist (no endless submenus); Local note storage as .txt files (no server issues or DRM); No feature creep; Markdown (it's there if you need it).

This app is loaded with functionality - way beyond what I would ever use. Beware that the help file was written originally with Android 10 or earlier in mind. Reference is made to setting the repository when installing. Ignore this if you have a recent Android version. Create a folder called Backup with a sub folder called mirror and enable Backup Mirroring to enable access to copies of your original text files.

This app is everything I was looking for past one month! The auto backup option to SD card is brilliant. Though the app looks hideous. Need much more work on the app design which includes the app icon. Need clean, minimalistic and modern look and colour schemes. The blue colour looks awful. Secondly, I hate the fact that the lower toolbar shows up by default. I would rather prefer a clean window but an option to turn it on for those who actually use it.

Just the most amazing app if you are into writing, or even taking a lot of self-notes. Offline data saving, no hassle with network availability, saves files as textfiles on local memory. Minimalistic, but has the required features to customise. I owe a lot to the developer for making my life simpler. Kudos!

Please add these features in order to make the QoL more seamless. I have this installed but I ended up using Xiaomi Notes more cuz it has: Syntax highlight colors Card View (like Google Keep) Can choose the default file save type. Behavior: add a feature called "quick note taking". Description: When using "share" from like another app, have the option of just creating a note automatically (formatting can be YYYYMMDDhhss, and possibly adjustable if possible), then have all the content pasted in.

after searching 10 apps I think I've found what I need, but the app advertises syncing to cloud such as Dropbox while I can't find any option for that in the app. I'd like to set a path in my Dropbox as the default root path for all my notes. Please let me know where I can sync to Dropbox. Thanks. (P.S.: Also I hate the icon animation when I come out of a note). P.S.: Okay I installed syncthing, really a bad idea, but anyway, now the plus button for adding a local repository path doesn't work.

When I back out from the edit screen, if there is already a note with the same title , it just abandon the new note, without asking to change its title ?? Plus, the auto-generated note title could also be one that already exists!! -------- Edit: I have Enable auto save in the settings. Please fix this problem!

Good note app. The bad, for me, is the note list. The font size can't be changed. The texts are too small. I don't see why these be make bigger. Markdown view is buggy. On a dark native theme: Changing to markdown view yiels a blank white page. Touching the screen turns it dark. From then on nothing happen, no plain text nor M↓ text shows up.
