Nothing major in this update, apart from us changing our database, so we needed to update some code to pull the app's data from the right place.

We also fixed some issues where the app got into some occasional infinite loops. The changes generally speed up certain parts of the app because of this.

A great idea for an app, that steers people away from the money grabbing shite, that is Wetherspoons. However it needs improvements. There is a very small list of bars on the app in York, which as a city has lots of small independent pubs. And I've noticed other towns are the same. I'm sure this could be done by the users of this app, if there was a way to send in recommendations to bars we frequent and know not to be chains. Just a thought. Still giving this a 5 star rating.

Very good selection. I could see myself using this app when I go to England. However, there's not a lot of options for areas of Scotland and Wales. I think please add Elgin in Moray, Scotland, and Brecon in Powys, Wales. I'd like to know what alternative to Spoons exists in places I travel to. Overall, great app, fantastic idea and definitely recommend to friends from down south 😁

Great idea, I love it. I've seen reviews about it needing improvement with pictures, links to website etc however I've found that if you press directions it takes you to Google with all the info anyway! The only thing I would suggest is a search option so that you can prepare for when you're going on trips around the country.

Needs to switch off view button if there is nothing past option on the next screen, should be easy enough with a bit of pre processing. As for the data, you need to think and gamify it, find a way to get the users to provide accurate information and curate it for you. It's what Google did with the ingress game to get increased detail on their map data in the first place.

Great little app with loads of filters and dead easy to use from the first time you open it. Can't wait to get out and start using it in places I visit. Don't know if I'm missing it but would be good to have the starred pubs on the map so when you go back somewhere you can easily see your favourites nearby. If that is a feature I haven't seen yet, please correct me.

I've only had a quick play around with Neverspoons so far but it's such an awesome idea. No distractions or extra bloat within the app; just a few pins to suggest an alternative for a drink near you. It would be cool if when you tapped on a cluster of pubs around the offending chain pub the map kind of autozoomed into the location but this doesn't really affect usability! Sterling work, team. 🍻

A really good idea that I love, however (especially in cities) a lot of the truly independent places aren't listed at all as options. Instead there are bars who are part of chains that are not much better than Wetherspoons regarding attitudes to employees and customers alike. I think there needs to be a recommendations part of the app where people can send in their own suggestions for mod approval, which will give the really small businesses a boost!

Useful for avoiding Wetherspoons but lots of pubs listed as 'independent' on here are actually owned by Mitchell & Butlers, Stonegate, Punch Pubs etc so not very good in that respect. Also inconsistent on whether is considers Brains 'partnership' pubs as part of a chain or not. Lots of closed down places listed too, so only useful with a google search as to whether the place still exists. This could be a really good app with a few tweaks but at the moment its just ok.
