The basic tutorials for setting up, violin position and bow basics are fine but as soon as you have to start playing along, the notes are occasionally off time but mainly they just don't register the note and it forces you to restart over and over. Playing the same note to an external tuner shows that it is the right note so definitely not user error. This app is more likely to destroy your desire to learn than it is to teach you to play violin.

wonderful idea, terrible execution. the lessons are great themselves, but when it comes to the interactive lessons in which you actually play your violin, there are a lot of bugs to be fixed. 1) the timing is off.. I had to play the notes earlier than they were supposed to be, otherwise it would say I missed the note. 2) if you mess up during the song, it will restart without any background music, and in order to get the background music back, you have to manually restart the song yourself

My sincerest apologies but this is not the app I'm looking for. I understand if you're not going in that direction with your app, but it would imo be far better to have an app that shows you an A4 page of sheet music, you then play along and the app listens, correcting notes and tempo as you play. The music accompanying scales is the worst by far, but in general the sound quality in the songs is very low class. I truly hope you will manage to turn your play-along into a great listener app.

It's too expensive for what it is, but the free trial works to get you comfortable playing, at least. My biggest complaint is if you mess up too much, it resets you back to the beginning of the passage. This would be fine, except it completely cuts off the backing track AND METRONOME for some reason. And no matter how well you do in the passage, the sound doesn't come back for the rest of the song. How am I supposed to play without any audio timing aid? The little bouncing ball? That's harder.

Very frustrating. Because, there's this thing where it teaches you a song, and you KNOW what string you plucked specifically. (Supposed to be RIGHT, but it's NOT). And it won't let you move on in the song, even if you do fully finish the song, your "score" is terrible! Although you know that you were 100% accurate!!!! I do not recommend this app to beginners or anyone else in that matter. Even the tuning isn't very specific on what to tune. Other than that, it's a pretty okay app. 🙄

App keeps crashing and the microphone won't work or calibrate. I thought it might have been an error on my part so I downloaded it on my iPad. Nope! It keeps crashing and giving me errors on the iPad also. So, it's giving errors on Android and Apple? And they want you to pay $100+. Not worth it. I want to like it, but it's not even usable.

Disappointed... I've been playing the violin for around 7 yrs, but I thought why not try an app out and see if it could help newbies. I preferably think you should just go somewhere else. But go ahead and try this if you want! It has potential I think, it just needs to hear the notes better and also the fee to unlock everything i think is a bit disappointing. Just go to YouTube:)

Very unpleasant experience. The app plays a practice song with a theme and metronome. On your first mistake both the metronome and the theme STOP and you're left with basically a boring sheet music which you can download from the internet for free. Everyday I experience a very frustrating and annoying session and I promise myself not to start the app again. I asked them for a refund , but guess what ...
