I've had this app for a while now, I use it to look for unpopular moves that I can play against common lines.. the only problem is that it doesn't suggest the names of the openings for you.

Overall, the app is pretty good at capturing the main lines. Requiring a connection to access database games is not a big problem for me, but some gripes I have include the weak engine analysis as well as an outdated opening database. When I first got the app 4 years ago, it really helped me develop my opening knowledge, but now that I am decent (2000), I need a more thorough database. This app is good for beginner/intermediate players, but for experienced players you should look elsewhere.

Nice app, and I found another use for it: when a chess book doesn't have enough diagrams for my level, I enter the first moves on the app and 'sometimes' I find the exact game to be followed, move by move. When the game is not on the database, it would be nice to have the option to keep playing for both players (instead, the board just locks).

A very nice app for a very low price, no subscription. You can search by opening name or make some moves and see which openings they are. You can find games based on the current chessboard position. It would be nice, once you have chosen a game, to have it played automatically at different speeds, instead of clicking for every move. Anyway, a great app.

The problem with this app is that if you want to study an opening, you can only study one position. It has handy arrows indicating the most popular moves in a particular position, but there's no forward button if you go back one move. Or, if you hit the "reset" button, there's no way to go back to the position you were studying. It also won't tell you what the strongest moves are, only the most popular ones.

This app really helped me to improve my opening repertoire.

A helpful way to quickly look at openings. My singular criticism is that the option to have the names of the openings beside the arrows is cramped with overlapping text. This is a surprisingly small thing though. It's still legible, it's only one way to check the names of the openings, and it's not even a default option.

Wow! This gives the openings plus the percentage of players that make one particular move. And if you look for it it will show which masters players, with their rating, that had the exact position and who won! Additionally, it has a quiz to test knowledge like which opening is shown and best statistically for the win. I am most impressed. I've had this going about an hour and no adverts yet... I hope they are mild to none, but I understand there must be money for bills. Thanks for this program!
