European ceramic SMEs, to survive the strong competition need to invest in quality and safety of their products as well as to reduce productions costs. To do this, on one hand they need to be aware of the chemical composition and the toxicity of the produced glazes and on the other hand to be able to reduce resources used selecting the most efficient formation techniques.

The project’s outputs, concentrate exactly to these goals, developing two courses, “Glaze calculation with the SEGER formula” and “Formation Techniques for ceramic products” with instructions on how to save resources in ceramic production (gas, power, water) and a web assisting and training platform that instructs potters how to mix raw materials to create safe and durable glazes.
