Do you like monsters? Do you think they are the best part of their respective movies, books, and shows? Then you have to play The Passenger."vThe Passenger" is a 380,000-word interactive cosmic horror novel by Jime Rolón. It's entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
When your eldritch existence is threatened by another unthinkable creature, you find yourself jumping dimensions to escape your ghastly fate. Safe for now, your moment of respite is short-lived as you realize you're stuck on Earth, trapped inside a dumb human larva, and with no clue of how much energy you'll need to leave this horrible place behind.
Twenty-six years later you're still stranded on an absurd planet, you have a mom and a sister, and a job delivering baked goods. Not only that, but the creature that almost ate you all those years ago never really stopped looking for you. However, there’s no way it will pinpoint your actual location… right?

Absolutely awesome game. Heart wrenching storyline and choices that really make you think about what steps to take where eg. It really tugs at the heart strings. If i could i would give this app a 100 stars. At first i thought it wasn't for me then it got interesting and caught me in a snare of suspense, drama and well keeping everyone safe and happy. I love this game and would recommend it 100 times over for new or returning readers. Truely the best of the choice of games so far.

Now that the bugs are gone, I can make this five stars again. The concept is fresh. The characters are well developed for how short of a story it is. The choices are meaningful and well spaced. There is no forced alignment for good results (some other stories railroad you into a bad ending if you choose to be evil despite giving the option).

The beginning moved a little slow for my taste but it had lots of character development. Roach is an excellent romance option so choosing gender has its uses for those who would prefer more traditional gender roles. There is more than one ending which gives this game decent replayability. The ending is where this story really shines: everything was tied up properly except for the fate of that white truck. That poor man, probably a skeleton in a discarded truck at the end.

I had been following the development of this game and a few others for some time. Unfortunately, life gets in the way sometimes. I stopped tracking all of them but I get notification emails for new games and when I saw this email I didn't even think twice about paying for it. I enjoyed the demo that much. I thought the demo set up the world and feel of the story really well. The end result is satisfying and there are twists I was shocked by. The replayability is solid. Will you stay or go?

Incredibly enjoyable without being too long. One of the few single book Hosted Game I've actually replayed lately. It allows for enough variety in playthroughs that each run feels different. Varied and enjoyable characters, coherent stat usage and understandable stat choice "puzzles". Satisfying and varied endings, an incredible plus for me, personally. All in all, a book I enjoyed very much and wouldn't mind reading a sequel to some day ;p

I downloaded The Passenger to try something new and I ended up loving it! I only played the first three chapters, but can't wait to see how it ends (and how many endings)! I am not typically a horror fan, but I was immediately engrossed with the story. I loved the stats element too. There are a ton of choices to make (lending to the replay value) and it's all fueled by the imagination! I was weary of a game with no graphics, but it turns out all you need is a good story for a good game! ❤️

Brilliant story. Captures eldritch horror quite well from the perspective of an eldritch abomination. Not a whole lot of "paths"; your options have less influence and more just dialogue. Your stats don't seem to matter too much outside of a few very niche endings. As for the endings; a couple of brilliant ones, but the [jump] option felt lackluster. Could've used an extra page or two reflecting on the story instead of the abrupt end. Despite that, brilliant book with a great story! Very happy! ❤

What a delightful story! The horror elements are chilling and the character interactions are so fun. I've already done two runs and I'm excited to start a third. There's a pleasing diversity in development of your eldritch being and in the choices you can make. I love all of the romantic options and am excited to see what the others have in store for me. Something to note is that you can't save and reload, which makes decisions all the more nerve-wracking and mistouches unfortunate.
