The Every Dollar Counts app is designed to help researchers understand the way people use time. It collects anonymized data that can help to infer participant time-use. The app occasionally prompts you, the participant, to answer surveys about how you have spent your time. Answering these questions can provide researchers with valuable qualitative data about time use.To lower the burden of surveys on you, the app also uses passive data collection methods to infer time use. One example is location data captured via GPS. Knowing where someone spends their time can help determine how it was spent. This method reduces the number of surveys you have to fill out, while preserving your privacy.
This app provides you with full control over the data you provide to the study. You can pause the app operation at any time to stop passive data collection or to skip particular surveys. You can access and review the data collected from your device through your online account. Also, at any time, you can choose to delete part or all of the data you have provided for the study or drop out of the study.

Issues with getting notifications for the activities. It periodically gets repeated crashes and tells at me about not being able to run and collect my data the way it needs to. However the program itself has been great so the basic app does not affect my opinion on the research they are doing. If you want a realistic study on how people react to money now or later, use amounts that equal the wait. Who is actually going to choose to wait 8 weeks for not even $10? Might change the results.

The app started out working fine for me, but now it keeps giving me the error that my data is incomplete because there is an update available for the app. When I go to the playstore to update the app, there is not an option to update. Even when I elect 'enable auto-updates' this app does not appear on my list of apps that have an update available. **I have even tried uninstalling the app completely and re-installing and the same error happens again.**

Very simple and easy to use, but multiple times now, I don't get notified when there is a new survey or questionnaire, despite checking every day. I'll find out, naturally, when it decides to tell me 'this is over'. Otherwise, it'd be 5 stars. EDIT: Got notified this time, but now it won't let me fill out the calendar.

This app is excellent for what it's intended for. If you aren't part of the Every Dollar Counts study, with all fairness to the developers that work very hard to product such great apps, you shouldn't give this a 1 star review saying it doesn't work. Thank you!

Great when it works. As part of the program surveys have to be filled out once in awhile and yet there are times that I lose out on money because my answers will not be accepted no matter what I'm trying to put in.

Not enough options and yet too many! Make a category, then have a multiple allowance for what was happening during said hours! Just a thought. And navigating is confusing.

Uses a lot of battery and is glitchy, like you can't sleep for more than 10 hours because it says the input is not valid? (this is for day journal) Edit: now I'm getting around 288 notifications a day from this app... Very frustrating...

I wish there were more surveys. The first month I had one almost every week and that was so helpful with the extra 💸 But now I havent had one in a long time...
