Start with Sorcery! (1st) The 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books made into a game. I can't imagine how difficult and expensive this game was to create and maintain. Every action creates a different path to reach the end. The consequences of your actions carry on through the next 3 games in the series, and beyond - to replay sorcery 1-4 again with increased difficulty because of the choices you made the first time through...

I have played both Sorcery! + Socery! 2 so far and I couldn't put either one down. I carried my game over from the 1st chapter with no issues at all and this chapter was significantly longer (my only negative to the 1st was how short it was). This chapter had so many choices, places to go, interactions, etc. Plus the storyline was far more compelling requiring you find certain information to be able to move on. I enjoyed the challenge and am looking forward to Sorcery! 3

Everyone complaining about lack of clues should be glad they never played original gamebook version of this from the 1980s. It was 10 times as hard. This version is superior to the dead tree version in every way. Better combat system, better version of the spell system, & more content. Swindlestones exists to net you money that you NEED; this income wasn't available before. This version of Khare still feels as cutthroat as ever without being impossible. Great way to experience a classic.

WOW!!! So much more to do & experience than the 1st. The secondary (mini) maps are a great addition. The seemingly infinite options that change with each play keeps the game feeling fresh & with new surprises around every corner & option u choose. An amazing 👏 game that deserves every acknowledgement & download it gets. A choose your own adventure style read with MORE choices, MORE replay, MORE excitement! Game play includes strategy & puzzles that will keep u guessing & wanting more!!!!!

Much better than the first one, in my opinion. I felt like my choices carried more weight, and the city of Khare is a joy to explore. The game's more challenging than the first one too, since you need to pay attention to the clues you gather during the adventure if you want to get a good ending and be better prepared for the events of the third game.

My issue with this otherwise good game is that its not made clear when you have "lost." For instance, I may do action X, and 30 minutes later learn that prevents me from doing something else which may or may not prevent me from completing the game. This makes it quite frustrating to have to rewind one you've realized you cannot finish the game. Should I trace back 20 minutes or 1 hour? It's overwhelming when you have to go through the same process again and feels too much like trial and error.

If you like Sorcery 1, you'll love Sorcery 2. It's better than Sorcery 1 because you basically have to rerun it and explore 100% of the city instead of just once. You experience more of the actual game and story in this one, as opposed to speed running your way to the city. However, I can't complete the final spell in the 3 tries it gave me, and I feel like it should give out more hints every loop as to how and where the spell bearers are. I'll probably do a rerun anyway.

Very enjoyable text-based adventure/rpg game. You explore a city in search of hidden secrets. Cast spells or fight by hand to get through your problems or face the consequences of death, but don't worry, you can rewind time to fix your mistakes. Collect spell components, magic potions, and gamble your way to riches to afford everything you need to complete your journey. Overall, I really enjoy my experience so far and I definitely recommend. I think this game is definitely worth the price tag.
