My primary use of the router is for parental controls. Safe Access needs work: When I open the app and tap on Safe Access, it won't display properly until I tap on Device List and then go back to Safe Access. When extending hours of use, it displays "rewarding," but doesn't show an updated cut off time. You can't reward with temporary time quota extension, which is a critical feature. Instead, you have to manually edit the time quota for the day, and then change it back the next day.

This is the best router management app I've used. Way better than Tether, by miles. I use this app for general management of our network utilizing a Synology RT6600 router. For parental controls this app is the best I've seen. Aside from giving you the ability to set multiple networks (depending on router model), you can set independent schedules and control the amount of Internet time by child, and see which devices are connected.

Unlike with the web interface, the app is sorely lacking in features and capabilities. For example, try configuring DHCP settings or try changing the DNS settings. These settings are nowhere to be found in the App that I could locate. The app is good for looking to see what devices are connected to the router and for an overview of internet connectivity. A good app should allow one to edit virtually any of the router's settings that you can do via the web portal. This app is extremely lacking.

Great router, lousy app. I've used a lot of routers with parental controls over the years. Some were missing important features, others wouldn't work half the time. Synology router is a dream in that it's a powerful router with every parental control feature I need. But the app is half baked. To make matters worse, there's a Web portal one can use to setup & change parental control settings that's pretty good but this app is missing features or works differently compared to the portal. Why?!?!

This app for the Synology router is great. I've never had any problems using it. It allows me to do everything I need to do with the router without having to login using the web based authentication. It also lets you trigger firmware updates from the app. The parental controls have a wide range of features/options that are all controllable via the app. It's the main reason I made this choice on the specific router. No complaints here.

If I didn't have to use this app to manage my router I would burn my phone just to see this app die. Used to work great until they updated it. Now it takes a minute to open, and every action within the app takes about 20-30 seconds to load. You can't see device IP addresses in lists, so you have to open every device to check addresses.

I've about had it with this router, and this app. I know what I chose for a password, but it doesn't work, and the real irritant is that after you can't login with your known password, you're never given a goddamn option to reset it. Seriously pissed off about this. Entered the pin from the bottom of the router on my PC, and it says incorrect pin and won't log on.

Typical app made by a hardware company. Poorly thought out UI and poor performance. Very slow when using the QuickConnect method. Needs an option to log in locally or remotely instead of always logging in remotely even when connected to the local network. Most times I use the app for using the Safe Access features (like rewarding my kids with extra wifi time). Unfortunately the number of clicks and time needed to get through to these features are excessive. A dedicated app for this is needed.
