关于分贝和声音测量
测量噪音和声音的单位叫做分贝。分贝的标度是对数型的，因此某个声音如果响度是参考声音的两倍，其就相当于3个分贝的增长。0分贝的参考点是以最不易于察觉的声音的响度，也即听力的阈值为基准的。依据这个标度，10分贝的声音的响度就是参考声音的10倍。强调这一点很重要也是因为，几分贝的高或低就会使声音听起来大有不同。
描述不时变化的声音水平的首选方法，也即用单一分贝值来衡量一个期间内的总声能的方法就叫做均能声量。不过通常测量声音水平的方法叫做A计权，就是有效地切除一般人听不见的较低和较高的频率。在这种情况下均能声量就被写作等效声级（LAeq）。等效声级能够测量格式化的|侧重于较高声音峰值的平均值，它也是专业人员最常用的测量噪音的方法之一。SmarterNoise的所有平均值都是用等效声级来衡量的。
噪音的对健康的影响通常用Lden来衡量。Lden能够测量24小时时间段内的平均声级，在晚间19:00-22:00之间会增加5分贝的损失，而在夜间22:00-7:00之间会增加10分贝的损失。长期暴露于噪音中将会增加健康风险，这一点已被证实，因此这也强调了考虑长时期内的完全平均声能、而不仅是临时性平均值或噪音峰值的需要。

Impressive app! The user can unlock additional features by simply watching a 5 second ad -- good way for devs to get revenue & less annoying to the user. Suggestion: I wanted to directionally locate the source of the noise. "Locate Source" would be a great feature. Also, it rated a neighbor's beeping alarm clock as mild cognitive impairment. That setting is too low for a repetitive, spiking, low db noise. Thanks!

I needed something to provide proof of noise disturbances and this app is better than any other app that I found to do that. I would like to see a couple of additional features: 1. The ability to record video that includes the full screen and not just the video taken by the camera. 2. The ability to record a video in the audio only mode so that I have location data, time stamps and graphs but no video from the camera.

So far its working good & properly & if the settings are right...like the sensitivity, voice inhancer, speaker boost & etc are set to the correct setting & volume then it so good that it picks up the softest & lowest tone of whispering conversations. Out of only a select few choices...this is one of the best & most helpful apps that was created that actually works & that does exactly what it says it will/can!!! It really is great!!

An auto save feature, maybe for watching an advertisement, would bring this app to 5 out of 5 stars. Also maybe.and the ability to see the sound spectrum being reviewed for ultrasonic and infrasonic would be awesome. Maybe for an advertisement. Boost. Would be great but bugs found around the timer: Video and Audio setting: doesn't automatically save with timer past 5mins Audio setting: as per above + needs a screen stay on option like video otherwise won't even save at 5min. My phone has max of 10min screentimeout so can't override

I have tried at least 10 other noise meter apps and this is by far the best one. Don't waste your time on any other app, this is all you need. I'm using my recordings as evidence of the traffic noise at my last rental. Great app.

Could it record on demand? When above 50db, it could rec 5s (configurabe), or for while the noise remains loud, or keep recording if another loud sound happens in less than that delay. I have an abusive neighbour and i need help to defend myself or my health will get worse. Thx!

This is a great app just what I needed. However it could be better. 1. I need to record at night so it would be very useful if the camera settings could be adjusted to create a brighter image. Many of my recording are just black! 2. You have to realise that as soon as your screensaver comes on it stops recording. Would give it 5* if these could be fixed.
