I've been a very long-time Plex user, but trying to listen to audiobooks on it is so frustrating that I ended up using a separate app. Bookcamp has been awesome especially when I finish a book but had not planned for my next listen. Now I can browse my entire library, not just what I've pre-downloaded. Holding my breath for a widget for easier interfacing. Also, some titles might need file editing for Plex and Bookcamp to recognize the titles properly.

This is something that should be a one time purchase at best. I'm tired of everything needing a subscription. I feel like the developer is out of touch with their target demographic, most people I know that use Plex (which is a requirement for this to run) don't use subscription based services. Even Plex itself offers a lifetime subscription.

I loved the interface and also how easy it was to setup my Plex. I had a number of issues. I emailed the developer but he never replied. My issues: I constantly had the "Your audiobook is loading..." message appear. Sometimes for a day or two. Even allowing the app to run in the background it would never stop when the "Sleep Timer" was activated. It would just keep going. When I connect it to a chromecast device the app would loose all progress and never update to the new location in the book.

Down from 4 to 3 stars. I was hopeful a year ago. The app still looks great, but it's $12/yr and there haven't been enough improvements to basic functionality. Sometimes, stuff doesn't just work right, including playing downloaded books or casting , and I have to restart my whole phone to get it to work right. Pixel 8, Android 14.

Just too buggy for the price. I have been using this app for 6+ months and unfortunately won't be continuing to use or pay for it. The subscription cost of around $15 is way too much for an app that just half works. It's incredibly frustrating to load a new book, it often won't launch/load a book. It will just continuously "load". Then you have to force close the app. "If" you could download the book, then it would usually play...but relaunching the app, it often would freeze again.

The search for the perfect Plex audiobook app on Android is over. Bookcamp is the definitive choice, rivaling iOS's Prologue. The UI is fantastic on both my phone and Android Auto. It's incredible that Max develops this in his spare time. The small subscription is well worth it to support his hard work. Thank you, Max, keep the updates coming!

I've been using this for about a month and I'm impressed! Worth the ~$1/month. Works so-so with Android Auto, it often gets stuck on "Getting Your Selection...", but is mostly usable. Easy 5-stars if this was fixed. Would also love settings around Forward/Back buttons. Right now it just jumps all the way to the next/previous chapter, but I'd much prefer a 15 second rewind.

It's a subscription service without the service, because you provide your own server. The price of this app for 1 year is more than double the outright price of Prologue. Makes me wish I had an iPhone. If I could buy it outright at a reasonable price I may be happy, but I won't pay an ongoing subscription. For now I'll stick with Chronicle, which is fine.
