Sawa sawa is an explorative educational game on gender and gender equality.

Sawa sawa means We are equal in Arabic, and invites the player on a journey to research and explore the state of gender and gender equality in both urban and rural areas of Morocco. Throughout the game, players are met with educational challenges, informative and interactive dialogues, opportunities for personal reflection, stories told by locals, and transformative questions to ask other players outside the screen.

The characters, setting, stories, questions, educational content, and gameplay of Sawa sawa, has been co-designed with young students from Rabat in Morocco, KVINFO - Danish Center for Research on Women and Gender, and Quartiers du Monde - the Moroccan solidarity association working to build spaces and dialogue between girls and boys, women and men.
