Cat Tailer is not GPS. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology with a long 328 foot range (100 meters) to assist you in finding your pet within your yard or neighborhood.

Works great for finding the cat and the collar when it's lost! UPDATE! I bought 2 and used them. Got one replaced because I lost it and was unable to find it. The problem I had with the last ones was that after software updates of the location got all screwed up. The first one I bought I found several times after the cat lost it. UPDATE! If you install Wunderfind it will be a lotveasier to find a lost tracker/cat!!

This device is really perfect for me and my cat. We live at 9,000 feet on a mountain and cell service is in and out. Bluetooth won't tell me exactly where he is like gps, but Bluetooth is always available. Cat Tailer alerts me when he goes out of range and when he comes back. CT has saved my cat MANY times from nocturnal predators by helping me locate him! It takes a bit of time sometimes, but I walk to different locations and the closer my cat gets, the faster the device beeps. Love it!

Overall, it is better than nothing. Learning to use it to track your cat is a long and confusing journey, but once you know how it works, it is a help in finding your cat. You have to move slowly. Stand in one spot, facing any direction, and DO NOT MOVE for about 45 seconds to 1 minute. Then SLOWLY start turning around, paying attention to the range display. At some point, you will see the numbers drop. Your cat is somewhere in that direction or 180 degrees behind you. It takes patience.

Was OK until 2.1.7 update. Now it's a pile of garbage. Cats 6 feet from me, bounces to 211, then 30, then out of range. Luckily I had another phone with version 2.1.3 and it worked ok again. I tried the app on 4 different devices, 2 old version and 2 the latest. "Enhancements for ranging data" did not work. **** Follow up, these guys are pretty awesome. Reached out and worked with me personally to troubleshoot and recognize the issue. Worked fast to push out an update! ****

The app used to work great but after the two lastest updates, it seems to get stuck at 4 feet distance a lot when my cat is hundreds of feet away and it takes a lot longer to pinpoint my cat's distance. It also no longer self updates the distance. Wish I never updated the app from the original version

It works well. Sometimes the distance can be wildly inaccurate if there's something between the tailer and your phone (such as a wall), but it certainly helps to locate my cat nonetheless.

I feel much safer knowing my cat is closer. The app and tracker just works fine and can provide updates in the background. Distance accuracy is not that great at first but then it is stable.
