Protake brings the filmmaking experience of professional cinema cameras to your mobile devices.

No matter you're a daily vlogger, a commercial director, or a well-established filmmaker, you will benefit from Protake's features including:

# MODES

· AUTO Mode: a mode optimized for vloggers and YouTubers, you can use it single-handedly, with our cinematic looks and professional composition assistants.
· PRO Mode: a mode designed for professional filmmakers. All the camera information and control settings are well aligned on the screen. The feature you want is always there on the screen.

# COLOR

· LOG: it's not only a genuine LOG gamma curve -- we strictly matched your mobile device's color to the industrial standard - ALEXA Log C. Besides the benefit of an outstanding dynamic range, colorists can use all their color solutions for ALEXA cameras with the footage from your phone.
· Cinematic Looks: we provided a dozen of cinematic looks for filmmakers -- the styles are categorized into Neutral Styles, Film Emulation (classic Kodak and Fuji cinema film), Movie Inspired (blockbusters and indie masterpieces), and ALEXA Looks.

# ASSITANTS

· Frame Drop Notice: Mobile devices are not designed as professional cinema cameras, therefore, you need to know immediately when a frame is dropped.
· Monitoring tools: Waveform, Parade, Histogram, RGB Histogram, Audio Meter.
· Composition assistants: Aspect Ratios, Safe Area, Thirds, Crosshairs, and 3-axis Horizon Indicators.
· Exposure assistants: Zebra Strips,False Color, Exposure Compensation, Auto Exposure.
· Focus assistants: Focus Peaking and Auto Focus.
· Recording: Record Beeper, Record Flash, Volume Key Record.
· Zooming and Focusing: A-B Point.

# DATA

· Frame Rate Normalization: Mobile devices don't have perfect frame rate control, therefore, it's easy to get non-standard variable frame rate. Protake solves this problem fundamentally and makes strictly constant FPS of 24, 25, 30, 60, 120, etc.
· File-naming: All the video files saved by Protake use the standard naming system: Camera Unit + Reel Number + Clip Count + Suffix. It's something like "A001C00203_200412_IR8J.MOV"... Sounds familiar?
· Metadata: Everything including device model, ISO, shutter angel, white balance, lens, connected accessories, location, are all well recorded in the file's metadata.

Absolutely disappointed! I was recommended by someone that the paid version is even better. I feel it was a complete waste and that I can't recommended it further. The app completely freezes the moment I start recording. It's horrible. I tried reaching out to their email but no response. Cancelled the membership ultimately.

Re tested on Xperia 1 (with subscription, so no limitations I guess) and it's gotten a lot better since last time I reviewed it. Completely usable manual controls and settings, bugs fixed, etc. Decent alternative to Filmic Pro (FP) if it works as well on your hardware as it does in mine. And alot cheaper too. On the minus side, when compared to FP, it might come out as a (close) second best for the moment.

Hi so I just installed it and played with it for 2 seconds, and so far I love it, I am going to fully try tomorrow while filming my next YouTube video, for my channel. And I'll give an updated review. So far 3 starts, for a great interface and features Update So this 2 days after I installed, and I am about to Uninstall it. App has bugs, and there are almost no updates (based on what people said here) so no one to fix the bugs, and it is a yearly subscription, with out support, so no thanks.

I made a huge mistake. Please do not buy this app. It was my fault for believing a YouTuber who was obviously sponsored by Protake. The app is buggy, and full of bad controls. On the surface it looks good, but then you realize so many issues with WB, and record time length, and even the video quality. Not to mention the limited controls. I cannot believe I bought it to save a few dollars over Filmic Pro. What a stupid decision. The worst part is that they don't care, and they never respond to emails. Please save your money, and either get something free or one of the more proven Pro options.

Ludicrous claims, but a decent camera app. LOG profile is nowhere close to Arri C, and applying a standard C to 709 lut in Resolve results in extremely high contrast and saturation. Footage from this app is soft and clips badly, while the lower bit rate footage with identical settings in the native LG app was recoverable and resulted in no clipping after grading. This app does have great meters (waveform, histogram, etc) but the resulting image quality is worse overall. Can't recommend it.

Bought the pro version and has some good things ... however the white balance settings ... there should be a pointer whereas you can set the white balance level. That or presets .. dependant on whatever setting I have there does not seem to be a constant setting. Also the fact that you can't record to a memory card and just the phones internal memory is a bit of a let down. Otherwise not a bad app

Didn't buy it, but have played around, and it doesn't seem to perform up to specs. The biggest issue is the white balance. No matter what I do, it's not right. It's still way way too warm. It only corrects when in Auto, but then it's jumping around all over the place like a seizure. The point is so I can control it manually, but can't at all.... The image quality also appears to be not as good. Not sure if it's me or not, but it looks less detailed, less sharp

Everything is perfect But, I used the app and have read all the comments on this app. Apparently android users are having the same issue. I use a samsung S20 and the moment you go to change the fps on auto or pro mode, it doesn't work. This issue needs to be addressed as soon as possible for this particular app to be a success. This app has real potential among filmmakers and I love everything about except for that issue. Please look into it. Thank You
