Brick Search has had a huge update, with new features and a new look – as well as the same great minifigure scanner.

Building on the introduction of the revolutionary minifigure box scanner in 2024, Brick Search is now the place to go for everything a fan of brick-built sets needs.

Now you can use Brick Search to:

- Keep track of when sets retire so you don’t miss out on adding them to your collection

- Follow a curated list of key events from the world of brick-based set collecting and building

- Get expert opinion on the latest set releases

- Find out more about the stories behind the sets and themes with in-depth articles, short-form video content and high-quality images

And the innovative minifigure scanner is still there, updated for the May 1, 2025 release of F1 Collectible Race Cars. Use the Brick Search minifigure scanner to quickly see what car is inside the blind box packaging by scanning the code on the base. Multiple codes can be scanned at once and the scanner works with or without an internet connection.

Brick Search Plus members get unlimited use of the scanner, a link to the Brick Search Plus Discord server and the Brick Search Plus newsletter and access to Brick Search’s archive of more than 10,000 sets.

Brick Search users can build their collection and wishlist in-app, making it easy to track the sets you have and the sets you want. Brick Search also brings selected, trusted retailers to you on the page for every set on sale, so you can shop smarter for the sets you want.

A monthly Brick Search Plus membership is £2.49 / $3.49 and an annual membership is £19.99 / $29.99.

Used to work fine but now it boots to TV static. 😅 Seeing the latest update though, this isn't a loss. Scanning Minifigures now requires a subscription and ultimately for how little I used it, I'm happy using a regular QR scanner (like Google Lens) and using a lookup table rather than paying for that one feature, and a number of other features already offered for free by websites like Rebrickable. The UI worked pretty well for me when I first got it, but the paywall and current glitch... 😅

It used to be great; super helpful. It's unusable now unless you pay $24.99 for a year or a monthly charge. It says you can get 12 scans per day for free, but even that isn't working. Every time I try to scan something it's just forcing a pop up to pay for a membership. I don't buy LEGO Minifigures often enough to justify paying for a subscription. I'd rather just leave my purchase to chance than pay for this wonky app that only even registers maybe half of the QR codes I try to scan.

Extremely disappointed by the bait-and-switch. If the scanner requires a server API then rate limit it. If you need a revenue stream beyond affiliate links then use ads. One time cost would have been better (though likely still negatively received). Subscriptions are the absolute worst. Worse than requiring tipping for picking up takeout. Scanning was finicky while it lasted but usually eventually worked. May have considered tracking inventory but no longer.

Has now turned into a subscription service with steep prices. $43/year or $4.30/month is way to much. I'm only using it to scan the minifigure blind boxes! I would happily pay $5/year just to do that. I don't need the other features and I definitely won't use a £30 minifig store voucher. Was a great app before it went pay with a ridiculous price point. Please adjust pricing for people who only use it once in a blue moon to scan a box full of blind boxes. Please.

It used to be free and I get that things cost money to maintain that's fine. However instead of doing a by the app for $5 or $10 or whatever, they went the route of pay $3 a month or $25 a year in order to get access to the minifig scanner. I'm sorry but it is not worth that much money. I'll be willing to pay $5 or $10 one time for the app but a subscription is obscene, especially $3 a month or $25 a year at best it's a $1 a month app that's it. I hope you reconsider

Awful. Bait and switch as another user said. After you scan some predetermined but undisclosed number, you have to sign up for a $25 a year subscription to use it. Every scan counts against that number, even if you scan the same code twice by accident, or if you want to double check one later (for instance, making sure the right kid is gifted the right mini fig for Christmas) Would give 0 stars if possible, want to email the CEO, complain on Facebook, yadda yadda so on, so forth. Disappointing.

Used to be great for scanning & ID'ing minifig blind boxes, but they recently implemented a paid subscription. So now you only get 12 'free' scans before they lock you out and push the subscription. Extremely greedy of them. There's plenty of other free apps and sites that can scan and ID. Uninstalling BS.

App is only useful to scan minifigures boxes and now it limits users to just 12 scans before having to pay a subscription fee. Absolutely useless as an app. The fee is absurd for the complexity of the product. Don't waste your money.
