IIRC there was a camera app either from same author or this was based on it, that took photos as ASCII art - not actual text files with ANSI colour codes though, that would rule. Now Vector Camera inherits that same mode plus adds so many more cool great artistic modes to pick from. It's come a long way, and it's interesting that the best camera apps are Open Source (Open Camera and this) 🤗

I've just uninstalled the AsciiCam & replaced it with this Vector Camera instead thinking that this is way better since it said that it's no longer under active development however it a big mistake since the predecessor (AsciiCam) is way more better than this when it comes to ease of use & picture quality, which I think is what's more important. There's no way to access/move the modded & low quality pic that you chose other than to share it first to another device then send it back to yourself.

Whoa!.... this camera is soo trippy! It kinda reminds me of like vaporwave art idk y but ya you can take some aesthetically cool pictures with this imma try it on some coloring pages i have so i can color in just the lines and make it well neon-ish its soo fun to take a pic of something random and see how it will turn out good job👍😃👌

Neat app, does what it says, but only uses .:oO8@ to estimate a gray level scale. I would like to see it use the whole alphabet or graphic characters (like ▗ ▖ ▄ ▝ ▐ ▟ ▘ ▌ ▙ ▀ ▜ ▛ ▚ █ ) to better represent the image in B&W. And to be able to specify a character resolution as low as 32x24, and 40x25. Doing so would make it interesting to Sinclair and Commodore 8-bit computer users.

Great app so far! Planning to use the files for laser cutting/etching so we'll see how it goes!

Fun filters. Cool app. Eats a lot of battery and CPU....but I'm not surprised because it's doing a lot all at once. (on a Pixel 5)
