The SafeTTC App offers Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) customers a quick and discreet method for reporting harassment, safety concerns or suspicious activity directly to the TTC’s Transit Control Centre. Using this app, customers can do their part to help make transit safer for all by providing detailed reports of incidents and situations that are observed on the TTC system – whether on a vehicle, in a station or at a bus or streetcar stop. From the app home screen, customers have two easy options for contacting Transit Control:
- The “Report a Problem” button allows users to send text and photos or videos directly to Transit Control. When reporting an issue, customers can select from easy drop-down menus for vehicle type (bus, streetcar or subway), route numbers, and station locations, and report categories to assist Transit Control in assessing the situation.
* The “Call Police” button will connect customers directly to 9-1-1 dispatch and should only be used when emergency police, fire or medical assistance is required.
The application is designed with the subway in mind. If you send a report in an area without cellular connectivity, it will be stored and sent automatically as soon as you’re connected again. The system is also designed to send text before pictures so that Transit Control receives reports as quickly as possible.
Additional Features :
Customers can also receive alerts (sometimes called BOLO – Be On the Look Out) through the app. For example, SafeTTC may display information about a missing person, such as their description, picture and where they were last seen. If you have information related to an alert, users can contact or send a report to Transit Control through the app.
NOTE: Sending a report through this app will not summon emergency responders. Always call 9-1-1, either through the app or on your phone, in the event that emergency police, fire or medical assistance is required.

It's okay for what it is. But there should be a recording widget or instant one touch capture option. Instead of going through a lengthy submenu system to report an incident. "I'm going to report you for harassing me. One sec while I type in the options". That's as asinine as people dialing 9-1, then telling someone to back off or else they'll complete the call by pressing 1. Not very safe. As for the guy complaining about internet access to the maps, duh.. download them.

Useless app! I thought I would be able to see a map with reports from other people, specially women that got assaulted or followed, in order to avoid the area, but that option doesn't exist!! The app only allows you to write a message about a situation you've been through for them to analyse or call the police right away (which is something I can do without the app). The response I got for my report was: if he touched you, you can file a police report. (That was it).

Like the TTC itself, the app pretends to be one thing, but is something entirely different and less useful. When reporting homelessness, suspicious behaviour, threats of violence, disruptive behaviour etc., you are either advised that unless you are being attacked there is nothing they'll do, or to call 911. Garbage, like what the TTC has become.

Just used it for first time to try to report a lack of safety and security in the TTC only to be told they cannot help and that I need to use the program when the situation happens. If I do use it for sure at the time of incident it promotes antagonizing and more insecurity which leads to more unprovoked violence. How can a safe app be more dangerous to use??

Works as intended, but could use some modernization for an easier to use, faster, and smoother experience.

My latest experience on the TTC convinced me they don't care about safety and this app is full of false promises. The best thing to do if you're getting harassed is to get off the vehicle and pray they don't follow you.

Awful. Looks and works like an app from 2008. The TTC transit cops are legally police officers, but the pinkos in charge won't even let them have guns so call the REAL police if you feel you're in danger.

"FAQ & Help" doesn't work. It connects to TTC webpage that says, "Sorry could not find what you are looking for."
