The app seems to go from bad to worse. This latest version somehow makes my volume button only work on the phone volume and not media. So even after I close the app snd open say a music app or Instagram and try to turn the volume down it doesn't work. I have to go back and force close Meet to get the volume button to work as it's supposed to. Plus the app barely opens the messages. Sometimes it's just a blank gray screen. And messages are sometimes stuck in "Sending" or "sent" mode. Come on.

Seems to be a bug with the latest update. If you turn on the additional encryption setting and call a contact, they can not hear you until you turn it off. I tried, power cycling the phone. Force closing any and all apps accessing microphone, took-away and returned mic permissions to the meet app and none of these steps got the microphone working again until I went into my Meet app settings and turned off the additional encryption. It worked up until this current version though.

Audio is terrible. It muffles my voice so badly. My microphones are clear. I thought this issue would be resolved when I got a new phone but it is the same on a brand new phone. Not sure what's up. UPDATE: I performed all of the suggested solutions given here and researching online, the app is still misbehaving. Audio will be extremely muffled and then normal. No rhyme or reason to when it does this, seems random. Annoying. All apps are up to date, phone is up to date and only a week old.

Google Meet works great on mobile devices. However, the Android TV version seems to be a buggy mess. When using the latest version of the app, I'm never prompted to select my Google account when opening the app for the first time. Attempting to manually select the Google account to use for calling always fails with an error. I switched to an older version of app, and now I'm at least able to select my Google account and make calls. However, I'm not able to hear any audio (as mentioned by others)

Use this app everyday. Had no problems when it was Duo. Since it changed to Meet I have had problems making calls. It shows that I'm calling out but the other person is not getting my calls. Both of us have up to date apps and the other person can call me and I get the call no problem. I can get the new app to work ok for a couple of days and then it will stop working again. Seems like the only way I can get it to work properly is to uninstall it and reinstall it. Very frustrating.

I never had an issue until meet moved to its new call style. I used meet for a normal video call between two people it was perfect for that. Now the push for the "corporate" meeting style video call has dropped the call quality significantly. The UI is very cluttered, video is not clear, especially if there is low light. The audio has become choppy. I wish this app could go back to "legacy" calling.

TRASH!!! Quality is terrible since the update. The calls don't even come through consistently anymore and the switch to meeting instead of legacy was the worst. There should definitely be 2 modes for this app. It completely defeats the purpose of using this app for one-to-one calls. Looking for something else.

Edit October 2024: it feels like what is now Meet is turning into Zoom which is the entire opposite direction of why I started using it in the first place. I find meet to be rapidly losing the features that I started using the application for in the first place, Duo was a wonderful FaceTime alternative, but no longer... Bring back Duo as its own app... Duo is an amazing video calling platform. I'd highly recommend it! My biggest concern is data collection policies, but past that no complaints!
