This is a collection of cellular automata - fields of cells which live by certain rules. At this point Living Cells is able to simulate not only the famous Life by John Conway, but also its colored variant, a family of cellular automata called Generations, which includes widely known Brian's Brain, and also Turmites family, the best-known example of which is Langton's ant. This is not a game per se because it doesn't require any input from the player. But it is possible to affect how cells live by adjusting rules, creating new cells, or dragging groups of existing ones.
Features:
- Four types of cellular automata
- Possibility to set a rule for each type and also to enter your own rules
- Interactive field allowing to create and erase cells or to drag existing cells. Switch between adding and erasing with a longpress. Simulation pauses by default, but this is now adjustable
- Customizable look and feel for the cells: either select one of the preinstalled themes or create your own
- Application can be used as a live wallpaper

I had this on an old phone and used it as the background and now that I upgraded to an s7 I can't figure out how to get into the settings to change the look and game parameters. I can't find a help or faq to look up this problem. Long pressing only brings up the app switch menu :( Now it no longer moves in the background when I use it as a live wallpaper:(

This is so satisfying and it's so cool. But I need two more things 1. Perfectly square cells and connected too (remove grids) 2. Make it 3 dimensional (like make a sphere or a cube) This is very cool if you can't make 3 dimension then nevermind.

Pretty cool ,but I most enjoyed the background it comes with. Look really neat and doesn't look unnatural.

add rules as well... rules for changing reproduction and survival cells... and life span

This is one of the best implementations of the game. Ability to add cells on the fly is also great. Is it possible though to add a mechanism of random cell appearance with regulated probability and within dense parts, for example?

I love this app. It would be great if it could prevent the screen from turning off while it's displaying the cells, otherwise you have to tap it every so often...

I love this but I can't figure out how to just change the rules a little without having to save as a new rule set or rename it. I'm used to mo I'll design where you make changes and they're "live" i.e. no save required unless you want to name the setting
