Create and play your own custom synthesizers and instruments!

Inspired by the Korg Kaossilator and Moog synthesizers, Saucillator transforms mobile devices into a platform for creating and playing digital synthesizers. Users use the touchscreen to manipulate oscillators and effects, and can also do live-looping and recording. Our goal is to be beginner friendly while at the same time offering all the deep, complex features traditional synth users love.

A multi track looper and beat generator are available to create synth loops and synchronize a beat/click track alongside it. Loops can be modified, toggled, and added as you're playing.

Users are able to play custom modular synthesizers using the x-y axes of the touchscreen. The x-axis corresponds to amplitude (volume) and the y-axis corresponds to frequency (pitch). Playback can also be looped, recorded, and EQed using a Parametric EQ.

On top of performing, users are able to create their own custom synthesizers, which consist of a custom timbre and user-defined effects. A variety of timbres are included: Sine, Square, Saw, Pulse, Noise, Theremin, "Singing Saw", "Electric Eel", and "Starslide" (among many more). These, as well as any user-created synths, can be mixed and matched at different harmonics, amplitudes, and phases to create custom sounds.

Each synth has customizable fx parameters as well, including Envelope (ADSR - attack & release), Vibrato LFO (rate & depth), Tremolo, Delay, Distortion, Parametric EQ, and Note Lag (Portamento). We also include a Filter (low-pass, highpass, bandpass) that can be modulated using an Envelope or LFO.

Custom synthesizers can be exported and shared with friends.

Other abilities:
-Choose scale: Pentatonic, Major, Minor, Blues, or Chromatic (among others).
-Choose the base note for the pad.
-Control the grid size.
-Record to disk.
-Live visualization of waveforms.
-Play synths with external midi controllers

Lots of fun, sounds great & pretty useful as a musical instrument. A reverb & maybe some other effects would be useful. It would also be useful to be able to minimise the synth's settings & use just the keyboard pad in portrait mode, and thus increase the note range. The looper is useful addition but can be tricky to use. I found it hard to record the initial loop without gaps at the start & end. To overcome this I recorded an initial blank loop of the length I wanted & then added the actual

I had this installed a very long time ago and was impressed. Today by chance I put it on a newer phone and wow! I was very pleasantly surprised. I could spend hours on this dreaming I'm in 1968 inventing my first electronic machine. The new layout and features are great - you can now literally invent your own sounds - which is exactly what I wanted. If you want that kind of sound from the early days of synthesizers this is the app. I can't wait to see where this goes. Thanks so much!

Extraordinary new interface! Especially enjoy how easy it is to add new harmonics and to adjust the grid size so quickly. Incredibly fun and unlike any other android synth. My only request for the future would be the ability to create a custom scale, like a note row 'C C# D D# E...' and each can adjust ±100cent.

Absolutely incredible, fun, and amazing audio sketch pad. The built-in looper is a brilliant addition. I have spent serval mornings coming up with ideas while having coffee. This synth can tap into early electronic music, think Forbidden Planet. Admittedly, I'm new to the synth app world on Android, however I have yet to find another app that can loop and generate ideas so quickly and easily. I really like creating from a few simple items. This Synth really fits that aesthetic!

I love how this app works but the bitrate of my recordings are horrible and I have no way to change it without it sounding horrible... is there a way to change the amount of bits, 8, 16, 32, as well as frequency, 22k, 44k, 48k, stuff like that... I did an improvised set and it was great but I can't recreate it

It's absolutely the best of its type. It's not perfect but it's extremely useable & more fun than it has any right to be. As a musician/producer, I can see me finding a use for this app on a professional level. The record feature is a small but important addition allowing you to use this app in collaboration with other music production apps. It takes up no memory space at all & the ability to be able to tweek the sounds only adds further to this apps usability. We'll done

Absolutely awesome! Definitely the best synthesizer you can find on Google play, and I absolutely love it! I do have a suggestion tho: Please expand the looper function, for ex. add the option to create a custom beat (with a grid, like some beat makers have). Other from that, it definitely deserves a 9.7/10. Keep up the good work!

Definitely my favorite "phone instrument"! Great sounds, lots of options but still easy to play. One feature that would really make this app an A+ would be an option to show pitch names in the grid. This would make it more useable in live settings when the key changes.
