The WAFB Zapp's recent update is no longer compatible with Android TV, but instead functions like a phone app that isn't optimized for larger screens. That's unfortunate, it was a good way to view Television newscasts on an actual television.

This app is beginning to malfunction on a regular basis. It shuts down or freezes up. I've deleted and reinstalled with no improvement.

WAFB has been one of my favorite news apps. However, it has become extremely unreliable as of late. Nearly every time I click on an article, it glitches and blanks out. Then, I have to try to search for the article or look on another news app. Uninstalls and reinstall do not work either. I have contemplated uninstalling the app for good.

After I click on a news alert notification and start reading the article in the app, the app window will flicker and then blank out the text before I can finish reading the article. The app only seems to list the last 10 or so news pieces, so I have to manually search for the piece to finish it. This white-out behavior has continued through multiple app updates. Oh, and then there's when the app is taken over by noisy fake virus alert ads that only be cleared by closing the app.

I'm guessing there was was update recently. The icon for the app changed and the look inside is a little different but the app is empty. All I see is a white screen. The navigation pain doesn't list any information. The home page is always blank. May have to delete this app for good if this isn't corrected. I uninstalled the app and downloaded it a second time; the issue continues to persist. Ever since the update, I am unable to get any news articles through the app. No morw local news I guess.

Update again: I tried contacting the developer at the address provided, the address is not valid. Par for the course I suppose. Update again: Still terrible years later. I get way too many alerts, if I actually try to open the alert if goes to their flash screen and freezes. Garbage. Update: currently does not work at all with Android 7.0. Top local news, but the app itself sucks. Half the time it just sits there loading and never gets data. This is very annoying.

This app needs some attention. I have my alert settings in the app set, but either I'm receiving other stuff, or WAFB has a loose interpretation of what is considered breaking news. Not only that, half the time when I open an alert, it opens my web browser (not the app) and takes me to some page to watch the news (live or rebroadcast), and the app continues to redirect me until I shut it down. Alerts should always open in the app and be tied to some article, which can include an embedded video.

Nice idea...terrible execution. It's helpful when it opens.....and that's not often. I have to uninstal and reinstall to open once....then, do it all over over again to open again. Once inside, the stories are easy to find and laid out in an organized manner. It's beneficial to have news about our area in a convenient place. If the "bugginess" of the app gets fixed, it would be 5 stars.
