Get the world champion. Have fun and improve your play. You can play against Shredder, analyze with him and solve chess puzzles. It offers the usual Shredder standard for your pocket.

In addition to the outstanding playing strength of the 19 times computer chess world champion, Shredder is also able to mimic the play of a human chess player with any playing strength. He even deliberately makes typical human mistakes in those levels.

Solve 1000 built in chess puzzles. Shredder keeps track of your performance and offers advice if needed.

I like the game but I find the 'TACTICS' mode a bit lacking. In the game mode you cannot move onto an invalid square. In the tactics mode there is a huge, annoying dialog that pops up to tell you. An invalid move should be represented by the target square going red. When the problem has been completed an other huge dialog appears to tell you. This should not cover the board as one wants to review the moves and check the final position to learn what the best moves were.

I'm a little bit disappointed about this app for two points: 1) When I resume the game with TIME CONTROL and I must to move, the time remains stuck! 2) It's not anymore possible to export pgn games (completed)previously loaded...it's possible ONLY when you finish the game at the moment when the game is over. (this is very bad thing). Sorry about my minuteness, but I'm a software developer and I make programs and "stress-test" every day. For the rest this app seems ok Keep going & best regards.

The interface used to be pretty nice, but they changed it- and really ruined it. The settings you choose don't work. like muting the sound. it may have to do with recent android updates. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Good, strong chess program with all the essential features. The feature that lets it adjust its playing strength to your level is very handy, and it gives what I think is a pretty fair estimate of your rating based on your performance.

I have lowered my rating from 5 stars because Shredder chess has failed to evolve at all. Yes its a strong engine but that's really it. Do something to make it better. For instance, when it says "that may not have been the best move. Add why? And have it explain why and what it leads to. Add more teachings like classical openings, defenses, variants and again, (a why button if you try variants), famous games library. This app is so old and has changed zero. It 100% was not worth the 7$ I paid.

Excellent game with smooth customizable interface and very strong opponent. No frills, just the game with useful hints, elo rating, and no in-app purchases. I particularly love the well-designed, clean chess board and pieces. Still one of the very best Android chess apps after all these years.

It was great until the update. For the tactics feature, we are forced to tap "try again", "stop" or "continue".. Which is a hassle.. Previously we could tap anywhere on the screen to dismiss the message and continue playing..

Plenty of exercises and humanlike AI with outstanding number of levels. No in app purchases is another bonus. The bar which shows the level of difficulty is okay, but it should also be possible to just enter the computer's elo difficulty with the buttons.
