The game takes the Warhammer universe and puts it into digestible battles that require some tactical thinking to win. The biggest thing is that without paying money to accelerate your progress and items, you need to be patient. There are days where I raid one mission repeatedly and burn through all my energy just to get a gear upgrade, and then will be able to do nothing else for the day. However, you get a consistent stream of new characters that makes it fun still.

It starts out really good. About half way through the first campaign it becomes noticeable that you'll have to pay to win. Typical. Also, the massive amount of some materials for upgrades is ludicrous. The system is also rigged to give mass amounts of only 1 character material, example: Angrax is constantly pulled yet I never use him or want to use him. Will be deleting and not recommending if the imbalance isn't fixed soon

The game could be a lot of fun, and is when you start - the game becomes unplayable unless you spend money rather quickly. It locks you into using certain characters, which you have to level up, that are basically useless in the grand scheme. Every bit of this game is built to play against your psychology, to get you to spend more and more money. The events they have could also be fun - but they are so heavily weighted to folk that are high level that it is literally punishing to be low level.

it's fun, but lately, it's been very buggy, maps not loading (losing tokens spent to play game modes). Ads are broken, you watch an ad for store refresh, and nothing happens. Everything is time gated. if you run out of tokens, it takes hours for them to come back. you burn through energy very fast, and then you guessed it, you have to wait. everything about this game funnels you to spend money. content launches are always breaking. microtransactions scale 1-10 this is deff a 10 predatory

It's a 40k branded version of The Phone Game. You know, with multiple currencies to confuse any understanding of value, gacha loot boxes of characters, energy limits to enforce paying for access to the game, a battle pass to accentuate fomo, first time purchase bundles to force you into the buyer funnel... The shame of it is it's built on the bones of the game are a solid turn-based tactical game with a storyline from a strong property. Play it if you like 40k but don't spend money here.

The game itself is pretty fun but the game does bottleneck pretty quickly into making it so you have to spend money to progress, it's possible to do so without spending anything but the grind and rng is going to become so boring and frustrating you'll just stop playing, it's a joke how many different things they can try to get you to spend money on but on top of that the amount of money everything costs is ridiculous.

It's a very well implemented tactical turn based game with plenty of upgrades. Units feel powerful. Spending money helps go faster but right now doesn't seem necessary. Edit: A bit over 2 years later. Still playing and the above still holds true. Can enjoy without money spent. Some of the pricing I feel is way more than reasonable. But none of the purchases are needed.

I love this game. I wish that every single form of playing it wasn't on a timer, though. It'd be great if there was a permanent online casual arena or a "tactics training" option. That way, you could practice using different lineups and form new strategies based on them without any kind of risk or reward besides building a stronger strategy.
