Yego is an App for requesting quick, safe and affordable rides. Our services are currently available only in Kigali, Rwanda.Here’s how it works:
- Open the app and select your ride: Cab or Moto (Moto availability is currently limited)
- Select your Pickup & Drop Location.
- View the driver and track arrival on the map.
- Give the driver the TSC (Trip Start Code) to begin the trip.
- At your destination, pay with cash or Mobile Money. You will get a receipt via SMS and Email.
Our priority is to provide you with safe and affordable rides!
With Yego you can:
- Check the price estimate before you request a ride. Our fares are regulated and distance-based, no surge-pricing!
- Ride safely and seamlessly. All our drivers are verified to assure a safe and comfortable ride.

I used this app twice on my visit to Kigali. At the first occasion, I was able to meet my driver at the airport, but credit card payment did not go through. At the second occasion, I was unable to meet my driver. Overall this app needs a lot of polishing but I hope its performance will improve over time. Edit: I added one star because I found payment failed because of 2FA flow failure (rather unusual timing though). The drivers generally don't trust CC payment and that needs to change.

Not reliable. Worst ride hailing app/experience I've seen (out of 55 countries). Just horrible. Drivers cannot use the location features, nor google maps. They require you to call them and give directions. Same is true once they lick you up...must tell them where to go. They sometimes try to negotiate for more money once they arrive. It took me 50 minutes to get a car to show up on a Saturday. Credit card payment doesn't work.

The cab matching service is really lacking. The cab I was provided with was a lot farther away from me and my intended location. I was afraid that this would affect the expected costs so I had to cancel it later. The cab drivers also don't use the same route shown on the app's map, so the predictions tend to be off. You might see a cab arrival time of 4 minutes but in a few seconds it could be double or more without an explanation.

I've used the app several times and it was good. The map feature is so unreliable though. Its hard to track the vehicles while they are on the move and its so frustrating when you're waiting for a ride cause its keeps lagging. Also, not very reliable if you're in a haste.

Thumbs for the app but it needs to be made better to keep and grow your customer base. Suggestions: 1. Make sure the driver can easily locate the customer's location and destination. I chose moto and shared the code but still he had to ask me to describe where I was and give directions to where I was going. Not helpful if I don't know the area well. 2. Provide accurate estimate of cost. I literally paid about twice the cost of the estimate. I have to say that does not provide any value added.

I dont think drivers are being passed pickup and drop off details/addresses or gps because everytime i request a ride, the drivers call me me to ask where I'm at and then they ask me where we're going if they can find me.Bc I dont speak local language, that means I'm stuck trying to text them where im at (using another app for translation). Yego should Provide messaging in the app with the option for translation to other languages bc I have had two drivers cancel on me now.

The app alone is just okay. However the service it tries to facilitate is utter trash. During my 7 day stay in Kigali, I have yet to successfully connect with a driver; drivers unilaterally cancelled their services. when a local friend of mine tried it took over an hour for the driver to arrive when the app said "5 mins". I appreciate hail riding apps but it seems like in the case of yego the service provider aka the drivers are the weakest link.

The drivers are thieves...in the morning I booked a ride. To which the driver called to ask if I could pay double of the price the app had generated I cancelled. This evening, I booked one same thing happened and the driver wanted me to pay more for a drop off claiming he needed money for packing. The 3rd instance after I took another one home from the mall, I'm told to pay extra fees and the driver refused to end the ride (pretending not to under stand English). Made me pay more again.
