Button Mapper makes it easy to remap custom actions to your volume buttons and other hardware buttons. Remap buttons to launch any app, shortcut or custom action with a single, double press or long press.Button Mapper can remap most physical or capacitive keys and buttons, such as volume buttons, some assist buttons, and capacitive home, back and recent apps keys. Button Mapper can also remap buttons on many gamepads, remotes and other peripheral devices.
Root is not required for most actions, however some require an adb command from a connected PC if not rooted. Button Mapper does not work when the screen is off unless your device is rooted or you run an adb command.

This app uses Accessibility services. Accessibility is used to detect when the physical or capacitive buttons are pressed on your device so they can be remapped to custom actions to accommodate your needs. It is not used to see what you type. Button Mapper does not collect or share any of your personal information, it is safe and your privacy is respected.
This app uses the Device Administrator permission. (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN)
This permission is used to lock the screen if the "Turn screen off" action is chosen. If you want to remove this permission, open Button Mapper, click on the menu (three dots in the upper right corner) and select "Uninstall"

Perfect for moto razr! I was having an issue with the bottom power button / finger print scanner, turning off and locking the screen with the slightest touch, not even pressing it. No settings in moto to change this. Very happy got it sorted in less than 30 seconds in free version. Thanks devs for this. Now I'm going to try the screen shot options.

Just works. If you need to load a simple android package to allow use for some buttons that are locked, no stress, the process is straight forward and anyone who owns a device should be able to do it. Able to assign apps and functions to buttons, 1 press, double press and hold. Opens so many possibilities and solutions. To the Devs... Thank You. Use on my last phone and my new one.

Use it to for easier accessibility to screenshot, torch and camera function. It can be used to customise buttons for various other purposes , buttons can be added too. It has got other features too but I haven't required their usage so far and cannot comment about them. You have a pro option ( lifetime deal no subscription:D ) to unlock more features. There are 3 payment options. You can select the amount you want to pay for the Pro version. 5⭐

Doesn't seem to actually work? I'm trying to find a way to turn off data/wifi or turn on Airplane mode, this has a data & airplane option, which I need either or. I did PC setup as I needed to for this to work. Then screen says they activate with volume up, but neither actually do anything. So airplane mode says turned on and if I pull down options at the top it shows airplane mode is on, but nothing actually happens. Everything is still lit up and active, it doesn't actually fully activate it

Years ago, Android (9) made it so that when you press your volume buttons, they only control your media volume. I still can't believe they think the average person wants to control their media volume when they're not even watching anything, instead of the ringer volume, but that's what they did. "Force ringer volume" reverses that, as well puts both media sliders side by side, so that even if you do want to control media, it's right there. And you can change any button to anything.

Fixes Android Pie on my Pixel 2 XL. Being able to change the default volume control from Media to Ringer is great. Worth the few bucks. To those who complain about price, it's a one time payment of $3.99, less than a kids meal at fast food. Application development isn't easy, isn't free, and goes on past creating the app.

this is a very great app, it works very well and it's very easy to use. I paid for access to the assistant button remap and it well... works. I mapped my assistant button to play and pause my music, and well sometimes it'll have a 7 second delay, and sometimes it won't pause at all! it's completely and entirely unreliable, and I need it to work within at least the second. when I have people coming up to me I need to be able to pause my music at a moments notice, but I can't. on LG G8X

This was so close to working. Sometimes it does what I want. But the service dies so, so, so frequently. I mean, mere seconds after I enable the options via adb the next time I try the command it fails. I've verified that the app isn't being regulated by power control settings. So I don't know why this is happening. But it's much, much, much more frequent than every reboot that the adb required options fail.
