How to Become a Good Student, I used to have major problems motivating myself to study when I was in my first and second year of college. I didn't really have this problem when I was in high school and living at home, but the minute I got out to live on my own, I just couldn't study anymore.

For many young people who go to university study is the last thing on their minds, I suppose that is the problem,It was for me anyway. It got to the point where a drastic change was needed or I would eventually get kicked out of school and have the shame of facing my parents after it was all over and done with.

Luckily that never happened and I graduated unscathed and with a respectable GPA. How did I do it? Well it was a combination self-displacing and some other things to help me along with the process. Firstly and most importantly, I had to decided that enough was enough and that I was really going to study. A set a start date and I prepared for it. Secondly, I made some rules to guide me through the whole process, rules which were suited to the way I liked to study.

For example, I downloaded some house music tracks and I studied in one hour sessions while listening to them. I found that the music really helped to motivate me, it also stopped me from wandering into daydreams which often happened before. Another thing that really helped me was changing where I studied ever few hours. I found that the change of environment helped me to regain the energy I had when I first started studying during that day, a cafe or the library is great for this.
