Works fine and a credit to the developers plus those compiling the datasets the app uses. One downside is when installing new or updating existing datasets is if the phone goes to sleep or you move to another app, it stops the download/installation process. So annoyingly you need to spend time and keep the phone awake when you could be using that time for something else.

I aboslutely love the app, although the custom book tool breaks the log function, if you create an entry, all previous entries will be missing from the log, but they can still be seen via the export and by looking in the book.

Very good so far. I'm not sure if this would be an option, but is it a possibility to upload Japanese trains on this app? I am only asking as I have seen a Japanese train and will be seeing some more in the future. There doesn't seem to be any decent train log books on these beautiful pieces of engineering. Would love to hear your feedback on this whenever you are able to.

I recently updated Spotlog to V5. After I found a couple of issues with the app on my device, I contacted the Spotlog team (Mark). Help and advice was absolutely first class. 👍👍 I now have all my records on V5 and yet to try some of the user settings. Many thanks to the Spotlog team for providing this superb app.

as these type of apps go, this is the best train number recording app I have found. However it is not perfect. There seem to be big gaps in locomotive number records UK70 class 03 for example. There also are gaps in classes, I.e. it shows Emu class 310, but not 304. The IE dataset shows class 141 locomotives but not 001, 121 or 181 classes, nor IE coaching stock from 80's onwards. The French dataset also has older dmu classes missing, as well as older electric locomotives.

In 2016 I started to use this app, and since then I've never looked back. It's been great all the time. Yes I've had problems at times but the owner and team have been there to help me out of a jam. After reading the fourm I can't wait for a bigger release. Question: Have you every through of expanding into the bus network as you have a gold mine of a wonderful app. Keep up the brilliant work... One Happy Customer 😀😀😀😀😀

In 2016 ( yes, 8 years ago ), I was looking for an app to log all my train numbers. Then, I came across this on and will admit for 8 years I've never looked back. I have highly recommended this app to newer people on my travels across the Northwest of England who have started the hobby. ( Mark and the team, please keep up the good work. You all are a masive credit to the community of the train family )

Really like the ease of use of this app. Saves carrying round paper and pens. The facility to record by voice is especially useful when passing depots. Mark is very good at helping with problems too.
