Full of features you didn’t know you needed, but you won’t be able to live without.

Screen emails like you screen calls
You screen your calls, so why can’t you screen your emails? With HEY, you can. HEY puts you in complete control of who’s allowed to email you. The first time someone emails you, you get to decide if you want to hear from them again.

Send an email to the web
Personal publishing has never been easier. Send an email to [email protected] from your personal HEY account to publish it on a webpage that the whole world can see. People can subscribe via email, or follow along via RSS.

The Imbox: It’s not a typo
Everyone hates their bloated inbox, so HEY has a focused Imbox instead. Your Imbox is where important, immediate emails go from people or services you care about. No random receipts, no “I rarely read these” newsletters, and no special offers crowding out the stuff you really care about.

Track an email’s progress through stages
Things get messy when you’re handling a situation with numerous email threads and multiple steps. With HEY, you can use Workflows to define stages and visually track an email’s progress through a multi-step process.

Add a simple, searchable note to any contact
Need to remember details about a contact? Where you met, their phone number, when to follow-up, etc. Contact Notes are a great way to document details about a contact without having to go digging through your emails.

Quiet by default, loud at your discretion
HEY push notifications are off by default so your phone doesn’t steal your attention every time an inconsequential email hits your Imbox. However, HEY lets you selectively turn them on for specific contacts or threads so you don’t miss the things you really care about.

A built-in “Reply Later” workflow
What if you need to reply, but you don’t have time right now? With HEY, just click the “Reply Later” button to move an email to a dedicated ‘Reply Later’ pile at the bottom of the screen so you don’t lose or forget it.

Just set it aside
Sometimes you get emails you need to reference later - travel info, handy links, numbers you need, etc. With HEY, you can ‘Set Aside’ any email in a neat little pile for easy access whenever you need it. At hand, but out of your face.

Blocking email spies 24-7-365
Many companies track which emails you open, how often you open them, and even where you were when you opened them. It’s a massive invasion of your privacy. HEY blocks these trackers and tells you who’s spying on you.

E pluribus unum
Doesn’t it suck when someone emails you separate threads about the same thing? Yup! With HEY, you can merge separate emails into one so you can keep everything together on a single page. No more dealing with fragmented conversations across separate threads.

Add some style to your Imbox with Cover Art
HEY is all about letting it flow, but some folks prefer an “out of sight, out of mind” approach. That’s where Cover Art comes in. Choose a style or upload your own image, and a cover will slide up over your previously seen emails. It’s a great way to add some life to your Imbox.

Link accounts and see all your email in one place
If you have multiple HEY accounts — like one for personal use and one for work — you can view them together without having to log in and out.

Spread ’em out, read ’em together
Let’s say you have 7 unread emails. Why do you have to open one, close one, open one, close one, open one, close one, and so on. It’s ridiculously inefficient. With HEY, you can open multiple emails at once and just scroll through them, just like you would a newsfeed. It’s a revolutionary way to read your emails. You’ll never go back to the old way.

Just got HEY today. Interface is awesome and I'm loving all of the features. I'm having trouble figuring out the "Clip" feature. It says just highlight text but nothing happens on the Android app or desktop. When I try to right-click on desktop it doesn't do anything besides the normal context menu also.

Potential as my main email app. For now, I communicate with vendors and service providers on it just in case they share my email info. As a legacy ESP user, hey's UI isn't intuitive yet for me. But I sprinted thru the onboarding tutorial (as users do) and do not live in the app. My notes: Renewal date and renewal subscription costs should more readily available just in case a user needs to make a churn decision. It's a beautiful app, though w/ good cx.

I'm still testing it but so far, it's the most useful email app I've seen. However, paying $100 when the others are basically free, is not something I'm a fan of. I would be willing to pay $50 per year, either that or a monthly fee of about $8, rather than a huge $100 payment. I know it's about not having ads, but people don't mind ads if it's not too invasive, and would rather go with a service like Gmail, Outlook, etc. Please try the monthly payment method. Also, incorporate note taking.

Love the idea, but it needs some UI/flow tweaks before I'm convinced it's worth the price. When screening new senders there needs to be a way to directly specify where all their emails should go (Imbox, The Feed, Paper Trail, plus labels). Don't get me wrong, I love that configuring these filters is actually available on the App, unlike Gmail! The Feed needs a quick way to swipe away/trash items you've read. Select, ..., Trash is not efficient. Not a huge fan of things hidden behind the "hand".

This app incorporates a lot of great ideas to improve email. However there are a few features it lacks which make it difficult to use as a primary client (send from, imap, snooze, send later, filter rules, etc). Merging threads also works poorly (app hangs). And I wish the Feed were more of a full featured RSS reader with the ability to show read/unread, individual sender, grouped senders / label.

Beautifully designed app with a ton of innovative ideas. My two critiques so far are 1) I want a quick way to delete things from the feed and 2) i want a quicker way to jump between the Inbox/Feed/Paper trail. For #1 I understand the sentiment of it feeling like a linked in feed, but I when I'm done with things I want them gone. Maybe I'll mentally adjust :-) For #2 I just think it's a bit cumbersome to have several taps to get to a 2 factor email.

Great idea but definitely not worth $98! I'm one of the early tester of the app and from the day one I installed and used this on any device include phone, PC,.... .When it comes to the functionality which is the most important reason to trying it, I ended up feeling bad. This email host doesn't give you the option to create folders the way you want to categorize your emails. You should forward your email addresses to this and it's going to ask you $99 each year for membership! DOA.

I gotta say, this app is alpha quality. Composing from mailto links on the web still doesn't seem to work, for instance. Also, "The Feed" needs a way to easily delete all the junk expired promotions etc I get. I want to love it. I really really do. I'm not giving up on Hey yet. Come back later!
